Please send my congratulations to you DS @pointythings 🌺

Piggywaspushed · 19/09/2025 14:34

I think it is important to know who is deleted . I was on a thread recently where someone who was deleted came back and doubled down. That pattern needs to be visible so it can be accurately reported.

Can the deleted person themself even see that they were ??

MNHQ says it is a bug which is being fixed.

PickAChew · 19/09/2025 15:15

Probably when they fix all the other bugs.

Hope it works out for your DS, @pointythings

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2025 15:22

Good luck for DS @pointythings

DS has a job interview! Part time, NHS, in a mental health service. If he can't work in his field (and his non disabled peers are struggling) then this is the next best thing. He's passionate about mental health and this is also the service which has helped him so much.

Good luck!

Well it’s not looking good on the latest polls

Reform 32
Labour 18
Con 16

Ouch. Sub 20 for a current government. That’s not unpopular, it’s subterranean. These are averages of all polls so some polls will look even worse.

Much as I don’t like the current government I find this hard to believe. Are people really going to vote for Reform in the numbers to form a government.

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2025 18:52

That findoutnow poll is an outlier, always projecting Reform high

But yes, people are really planning to vote Farage despite his track record.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/09/2025 18:55

Were there an election tomorrow I think it's pretty clear that Reform would win more votes than any other single party. How that would turn into seats I have no idea.
Labour have four years left - I just hope they don't continue to fuck it up because the idea of a Reform Government terrifies me.

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2025 18:58

We need the Tories to decide who they want to be too, return to One Nation Conservatives or become Reform?

OP posts:
derxa · 19/09/2025 19:13

I hope if the Reform party come in they reverse the farm inheritance tax. One of the most idiotic mistakes by any government. Farmers are giving up in their droves. That is not good.

I don’t think there are any One Nation Conservatives left - or if there are they have been awfully quiet.

Would you trust them to keep their promise?

You might think that a price worth paying. I don’t.

I have no idea. I don’t trust politicians in general. The only politician who is in our corner is Kemi Badenoch.

What are Badenoch's farming policies other than removing IHT?

High end diplomatic skills on show this week with the POTUS.
Awful having to cosy up, but needs must as people voted for Brexit, led and lied to by people like NF and Johnson.
In my opinion.

bombastix · 19/09/2025 19:53

Okay 4 years to go. But dipping below 20 percent is significant. I don’t think there is government in the last 30 years who came back from that to win. Please correct me if so

All the other parties are having balkanised votes except Reform. Unless that changes then there is your next government

Karistyleaftea · 19/09/2025 19:58

@bombastix I do not believe Reform will ever govern the UK.
They do not seem to be a party of hard working, morally upstanding, critical thinking people to me.

itsgettingweird · 19/09/2025 20:32

Reform may be the most popular in polls but they can’t keep MPs or councillors long enough to turn them into seats it seems.

It'll certainly be interesting to see where we go in 4 years time.

The most interesting thing I think will be if (god forbid) we get a reform government how they will actually run the country because beyond immigration sound bites I don’t think they have the skill set within to do it.

A friend said that’s why they are poaching Tory’s but they aren’t acquiring the ones with any talent!

im hoping in 2 years time we start to feel the benefits of the new tech deals and they no longer have a poor economy to be immigrant focussed on as the cause .

good luck to ds pointy

Reform’s vote isn’t balkanised yet. A lot depends on Jenrick. And possibly Lowe (appreciate that’s fringe stuff but Musk will amplify etc).

Goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) I hope Jenrick heads full Lowe because it will shove what’s left of the One Nationers towards L/Ds.

4 years for Farage to hold it together. And whilst the media are soft soaping Reform at the moment it will be interesting to see what comes out nearer the time.

But yes Labour need to turn it around. I hope they do.

And good luck 🤞 to Pointy’s son. 🍀

Allow me to introduce you to the electorate.

These are the people who voted for Brexit...

And the people who do not watch mainstream media was much as they did even in 2016, so will not see much of an election campaign that will show Reform for who they really are. Or know about the low calibre of elected officials they have now.
