A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Just listened to Cive Lewis interview, he isn't messing around!

Upstartled · 12/09/2025 17:43

Thornbury is sticking the boot in too. She's written to Cooper to ask if security concerns about Mandelson were raised during the appointment process and how they were handled. Not a great week to become the foreign secretary.

Thornbury will be sticking the boot in at every opportunity.
I can't wait for conference

Alicia Kearns was criticising ET yesterday. Basically said she wasn't doing her job properly as Foreign Affairs Select Committee chair. ET was slow to comment or act on this Mandelson fiasco.

Ooo there's going to be some serious spinning going on such that we haven't seen since the days of Alastair Campbell.

My poor microwave popcorn function may not survive!

Rivalled · 12/09/2025 19:03

Sounds like a completely valid criticism of ET! Not a fan…

Apologies in advance; this is Boris writing in the DM. I found myself nodding along with his comments - not least the similarity between KS and an elderly minibus driver (noting, of course, that most minibus drivers tend to be competent).

Blinking human bollard 😆

I am not a Boris fan or supporter but he nails every point we've made on here for the last 14 months.
Shame he's up to the eyeballs in shit himself 🫣

Thanks. Brilliant Grin

They killed off the growth rate so effectively that the UK is now flatlining like a patient in cardiac arrest. Unemployment is up at 4.7 per cent and the planes to Dubai are full of panic-stricken UK company directors who are getting out while they can.

I must admit I find Clive Lewis criticising Starmer a bit like Anne Widdecombe critiquing John Sergeant’s ballroom dancing. Hopeless on hopeless.

Separately, what was the ‘we’re being watched’ comment referring to?

Other posters who may hold different views than are expressed on this thread frequently lurk and then either report or quote/reference us in other threads. A few very notable examples.

I thought as much.

I wouldn’t worry about that. Who cares what the more disagreeable MN Labourites think? (Some are quite decent.)

And the mods almost certainly have a “Boring Labour whingers” trash folder for the reports.

Konstantin Kisin here talking to Piers Morgan about the danger of making far right monsters and Nazis out of everyone who holds a different opinion to those on the left. He seems to think it's the tactic of radicalised young people. He's clearly never spent any time on MN.

TheNuthatch · 12/09/2025 21:12

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame Not worried at all, we're quite used to it. I just issued a warning when I saw a post get deleted soon after it was written.

Very true.

I do hope that what's happened in Utah gives some pause for thought. Those who readily throw those labels of far-right, fascist, nazi etc need to reflect.

OP posts:
CaveMum · 12/09/2025 21:42

Throwing around the label of “nazi” only serves to minimise the horror of what the actual nazis did.

Dominic Sandbrook spoke incredibly elegantly on US election night about why he disagreed with people calling Trump a fascist.

"The people who have spent the last decade calling their political opponents fascists, nazis, and so on: they have blood on their hands. And they need to look in the mirror now, and stop."

I reported that post @TheNuthatch , although I might not have been the only one. It was a sick comment, which I assumed was intended to provoke. I'm glad others didn't have to read it before it was deleted.
