A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Agreed.. his days are limited. I don’t think he’ll mind..

I may be wrong, but if they're married, I think they're thought of as a single entity for SDLT purposes. I'm pretty sure that as I'd owned a house before meeting my husband, that he wouldn't be considered a FTB, even if he bought without me.

I doubt it's the same for non-married couples. (Is Farage married? She's referred to as his 'partner' in all reports I've seen.)

Disclaimer: this may all be misremembered bollocks. 🤣🤣

No I think you're right Fluffy.
They are not married, she is his girlfriend. She's actually younger than me. The press have no business poking their noses into her affairs imo. She is not his wife, and stays out of the spotlight.

Labour MPs must be fed up with him by now. I wouldn't be surprised if they're discussing ousting him. They must be getting hammered by their constituents.

One more foot in shit and there will be open calls to replace Starmer. As things stand I think he’s looking shaky, but probably safe enough for now.

Come on Labourites, there must be a scandal lurking somewhere, ripe to burst out…

TheNuthatch · 11/09/2025 18:51

It's not Starmer, it's comms 😛😂

NHS waiting lists rise for second month in a row

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3dr52l1j3yo.amp

That's not good. Slight improvement in cancer care I suppose.
I can't think of a single area where Labour have improved things. Not one. Everything is worse,.despite massive borrowing.

I think he’ll stay, maybe. But is shaky. I’ll enjoy the idea of pained Labour MPs at HoC for a while instead.

Suzanne Moore on the fascist tactics of a deranged left.

I thought Streeting was on a mission to cut waiting lists. What happened?

WolfinSheepsDress · 11/09/2025 19:57

He was doing pretty well until he couldn't find any more dead people or patients who gave up and went private to cut off the list.

Yes in order to answer my own question I did a quick google, seems this is exactly what happened when the waiting lists reduced briefly.

Upstartled · 11/09/2025 20:03

I had high hopes that Streeting might deliver some of his plans for the NHS. It was to be the one thing that made the rest of the inevitable palatable. <Sigh>
