Pumping out carbon dioxide from fuels buried deep within the earth's crust at a rate knots is real. Deal with it.

Yes climate changes. But I'm presuming you know the difference between weather and climate. And also that human activity has an effect on water and air pollution.

Take as an example the great fogs/smogs of London. This resulted in the Clean Air Act 1956, 4 years after the great London smog.

Also the Great Stink in London after a heatwave which resulted in sewers Londoners still use today. Joseph Balzalgette was the engineer and a saviour of people because his design helped stop cholera outbreaks.

It may take 1,000 years to "restore" the climate. (And that's before we ask "to where" ?)

Much better to look what you can do in 10. Better flood defences. Better water management. Managing and preventing soil erosion.

(All of which would be much easier if we hadn't generated 8 billion people all expecting more and more every Christmas.)

Don't worry I'll be dead soon. Someone else can pick it up.

I do see where you're coming from.

Google says 328 days ago was 17 Oct 2024. So you could be right.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events/2024_October_17

Oh, this update from the Guardian says:

Graffiti on the side of the building reads “328 days blood on your hands”, although it is believed to have been there for as long as a year.

So not 328 days ago from today and nothing to do with the arsonist.

Piggywaspushed · 11/09/2025 17:56

Yes, but the clue is in Wikipedia

'Hodgson is a vice-chair of Labour Friends of Israel.'

She is really pretty left wing so I can't see any other issue in the timeframe that would be highlighted by graffiti and arson.

I do see where you're coming from.

Which explains why I am less of a fan of all the "investment" that has gone into peoples pockets, with very little to show for it right now. Everything is "on the horizon" in the same way it's been "around the corner" since I was (checks notes) watching Tomorrow World with Raymond Baxter.

All those people that were openly scoffing at ecology in the 60s and 70s very quietly bought into it in the 80s to be able to harvest the open wallets that well meaning greenies were trampling each other underfoot to proffer in penance.

DuncinToffee · 11/09/2025 18:01

Bit weird to have left that graffiti, you'd think they would have removed it.

This was in reply to Pandora's comment that it had been there for a year, forgot to quote

Labour Friends of Israel support a a 2 state solution that includes Palestine. It's either a red herring or whoever has been harassing her is an idiot.

Carbon capture can get in the bin as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't work.

Edited

Had the front of our house grafitti'd a few years ago and a few other minor 'attacks' - told by the police to leave it as removing it would just encourage more scribbles. No more appeared so maybe they were correct

Yes I know. I really hope the arson was nothing to do with it.

An idiot who will thankfully be going away for a long time, whatever the motive for the attack.

Possibly.

However, if you read into this group further , questions have been raised. It is certainly possible that this graffiti relates to her membership.

Do definitely not want to start debating Labour and Israel/ Palestine here , though. Aside from this this it's all conjecture, anyway, obviously.
