I can't leave you lot unsupervised for five minutes ! Made it out of the house, trudged through wind and rain to feed horses, and here you all are posting cat pictures and Christmas gifs and giving each other headaches.

Thanks @WinterFrogs! I haven't been doing much projecting recently as the kids have been off school with a virus.

I had one day on Tuesday where I worked on a work type project but for free for DH and then a morning on Friday where I did the grocery shopping and went to Home Depot to buy a new tea towel hook and some longer screws for the kitchen cabinet knobs which have all started falling off recently.

brief pause for respectful acknowledgement of those who do projects with the kids in their midst (@Mumtobabyhavoc, @mumofoneAloneandwell, probably some others of you!) but I can't seem to get my head round it!

You lot have put me to shame with talk of Christmas. But i saw something on another thread that made me smile - keeping it simple with wholesome food, a string of fairy lights and some holly in a vase, and getting out and walking.
That notion soothes my soul.
I'll cheer you all on though!

I really love Christmas and everything it involves but I can see how your simpler Christmas would be lovely too @WinterFrogs . I’m going to a wreath making workshop this week which I do each year and really enjoy. Then in the first week of December DD and I put up all the decorations (she loves Christmas too!).
My extra task today was wiping the fronts of the kitchen cabinets which always seem to need doing. It’s been cold and wet here all day so it’s a sit in front of the wood burner sort of evening with a glass or two of something lovely. It’s just me, DH and junior Petaldog as (adult) children are visiting both sets of grandparents for the weekend. DH is cooking dinner which is a treat.

No wood burner here but the heating is on, so I'm very snug. I'm listening to rain and wind outside and feeling very fortunate to be in!
I really needed today's big rest I think. Poor DH is fed up because his team lost today (football ) So he's playing all the critiques of the game in an endless loop on his phone and I'm hiding upstairs.
I love him really, he just needs to get it out of his system!

Winter, it has to be what makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? 🩷

@Aria999 Aria me and dd have spent the day in bed, on our devices, eating cupcakes and lollipops 😭😭

Hope the kids are okay, my dd was the same this week, I know it just throws things off honestly xx
