A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Angela Rayner the Tax Evader rolls off the tongue too easily. Once you have a jingle you are politically cursed.

Upstartled · 04/09/2025 11:40

Even people who couldn't name the party leaders know what Maggie did with the milk a gazillion years ago.

TheNuthatch · 04/09/2025 11:41

@inkognitha Welcome 😁
@Arrearing50 Glad you've found us.
@Julen7 Good luck with your dd's trousers 🤞

@Absentmindedsmile That graffiti is sickening. Politician's homes, partners and children should be out of bounds imo.

Lucy Connolly made a mistake, apologised for the mistake and was given bad advice - guilty and sent to jail. As all the left wingers said, she owned up to her guilt so prison was only option. Didnt matter that she apologised or received bad advice. Guilty!

Whereas Ricky Jones he had good advice and did not own up to his mistake. Not guilty. This was the correct result they said.

Unfortunately for the left wing, AR falls into the Lucy Connolly category here. Hoisted by their own petard.

She needs to resign. How can the party continue with her on board - it will taint every move they make.

Yes it does roll.
I'm getting "40K Ange" on my social media. Similar to 30p Lee I suppose.

Oh yes, obviously I should add for the benefit of the watchers, I don't agree with vandalising people's homes and terrorising politicians.

Agreed. It's completely out of order to vandalise anyone's property.

The difference is that people like you and I would apply that to ALL politicians, not just the ones we like.

Totally agree. Targeting MPs and their homes physically is disgraceful, as is going after spouses and children.

I doubt MNs’ Labourites will be speaking out now about the home protests, graffiti, milkshake, egg or paint throwing, horrible attacks on Tories’ wives and husbands or any of the other unconscionable aggression towards other parties’ MPs and their families, though.

It’s all ‘democratic expression’ if a Tory is physically abused. But not if a Labour figure is subject to it.

To be clear, it’s all wrong, all of it. I just wish the left would grow up.

Yes, right? Throwing rocks and drinks at Farage is bad - and joking that it should have been acid -Jo Brand- is bad. Young men setting alight to Starmer's property is bad. Invading Sunak's home - still bad.

I've seen so many acts of criminality justified against those who have differing opinions. It is disgusting.

Of course they won't, because any attacks Tory MPs are immediately justified.
None of it is right.

The language that was used on MN by regular posters, during the election against Tory MPs, perceived supporters of the Tories on MN etc was obscene.

It was. There's not an ounce of shame among them though.

And after calling Tories far-right, kitten kicking scum for a year, they have no more hyperbole left in the tank to describe anyone else. If the Adf rocked up at their doorstep tomorrow - they'd only have more of the same to dish out.

Yes. Just this morning one Labour fan has announced that he / she doesn’t ‘give a shiny shit’ what people who don’t like Labour think. Interesting isn’t. Laughable if they weren’t ’in charge’.

If you spend your life calling people scum it’s going to come back in some way. Sneering superiority is not a good look but seems to pervade all parts of Labour.

Did you see BBC News last night? They'd spliced together a sequence of Ange spitting venom over the years and calling for the immediate resignation of various (Tory) MPs who she considered to have behaved in self-serving, hypocritical or tax-avoiding ways, the implication being that what goes around comes around. And that's the thing, isn't it? She's spent the last 10 years being gobby and spiteful about anyone she disagrees with, but now it's her in the firing line I wonder how it feels? Karma is a bitch.

Upstartled · 04/09/2025 12:51

So basically, if you give all the facts to the correct type of lawyer - as you would knowing how terribly complicated the situation is - then the tax outcome was obvious?

Absentmindedsmile · 04/09/2025 12:56

It all comes down to the information she gave to the lawyer in the first place.

correct info wrong advice - she did nothing wrong

incorrect info right advice - she’s fcked

The proof of what she gave or didn’t give the lawyers, is what’s needed. And what’s being investigated I guess.

Upstartled · 04/09/2025 12:58

What about if she sought advice from the wrong source, like divorce lawyers -as suggested as a potential route to misinformation in the clip?
