Okay my school had a flagpole which we did not use. One wag put their pants up it once. That was the extent of us engaging with flag displays.

LlttledrummergirI · 27/08/2025 18:33

We fly lots of flags over sporting occasions and celebratory occasions. Queens jubilee street party for example.
Fortunately this fascist flag flying craze hasn't reached our street so far and I am very happy about that. If it does, ours will be coming down.

Also if the neighbours asked us to take them down so they could sell their house then we would. We aren't dickheads.

I wonder how many of these nationalistic fascists patriots would stand up and be counted when it really matters? Not many i think.

Is it somewhere along the south coast that is further along from the Isle of Wight? Like Bournemouth?

Bingo.

Lets not forget who the Taliban are.... and who Farage wishes to give £millions too....
If i were Labour i would be hammering them on this...

This goes to what I was saying earlier. This Labour government are in trouble. They are too timid. None of this is news, but it is reality.

Reeves is just not up to it. Labour backbenchers are deluded. Somebody needs to get a grip on this. Right now, who it is is extremely uncertain.

itsgettingweird · 27/08/2025 19:14

They need to improve their comms 10 fold.

Starmers interview for the Times today was good but we need these everyday. They were voted in so they need to stand up and shout about what they are doing.

Ignore the Reform - look a 🐿️ - tactics.

The number one priority should be the economy. The British people are not going to give a cheesy wotsit on international agreements, international diplomacy or summits. Starmer is doing a good job at these. But domestically it is a mess.

Reeves would have written that manifesto. She put her own fetters on. But she does not have the political chutzpah to deliver it via Labour MPs. How good is she, really? Her ability to decide and influence her own party seems extremely weak.

Possibly, but who appointed her? Labours problems should be on Starmer, not Reeves or anyone else.

imho i think she is doing a pretty good job, she messed up over WFA BUT that would have been a cabinet decision, not hers in a bubble.

The country is in a really mess economically, thats down to Labour to sort & deal with it, they'll get the blame for any errors.

Their ability to go for the oppositions jugular is sadly lacking, despite many chances, they seem to be able to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, weird given how good they were pre GE.

The ex headteacher of Ange's old school was on The Chase tonight. He sounds a lovely and inspiring man. He died just after filming, sadly. I won't say the outcome of the show in case of spoilers but it's proper uplifting.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2025 19:59

Has anyone else reported any posts tonight and had zero response at all??

PickAChew · 27/08/2025 20:05

I'm wondering if it's even working. I've had problems with editing, today. I think the scripts are horlicksed.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2025 20:07

Hmm... possibly.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2025 20:07

Oh, just been told 'they're incredibly busy'

Hope so!

LlttledrummergirI · 27/08/2025 20:08

I've not strayed far from my favourites tonight, so haven't needed to report. Maybe it's been overwhelmed by people reporting?

Cheguevarahamster · 27/08/2025 20:12

Thanks for the latest thread @DuncinToffee Having difficulty catching up as I'm on holiday. Here are some Scottish tigers for tax.

I hope it's a counter movement. Resistance!

Another day, another US school shooting. So depressing.

This form the Mayor is stinging :

Making a pointed reference to the typical political response to mass shootings, Frey - a Democrat - said: "Don't just say this is about 'thoughts and prayers' right now. These kids were literally praying."
