Yes take the piss out of them. Return the favour

placemats · 27/08/2025 14:08

The Lib Dems should totally go for this. They have nothing to lose and all to gain. @MaybeNotBob

Parliament is back next week until 17th September, by which time, I'm sure there'll be a new thread for the conference season.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2025 14:11

Thank you!

I've just spent several minutes attempting to find the chipmunk...

That's great, why would our hard earned taxes have to go to the Taliban what about the NHS or our schools.

Farage rowing back on deporting women and children, despite yesterday saying they would be.

Wonder if the Mail will head line with "At last a Politician who lies..."

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

The Libdems have the position and the collective wit to go full Newsom on Reform.

Ideally the Libdems will pick up the seats that downbeat Labour voters are in. Leave Reform to skim the Tory cream.

I wonder what would happen if come the next election we had a coalition that did not need Reform ? Maybe they should look into electoral reform as a matter of urgency ?

New tax thread. Sunflowers in my front garden.

When you have a dodgy roof over your property, you most certainly will rely on the weather forecast. Or even if you rely on crop harvest. Not sure about weatherman - very last century.

itsgettingweird · 27/08/2025 15:08

Agree.

Although the very idea people vote in Braverman because they like her and not because their Tory is a hard pill to swallow!

itsgettingweird · 27/08/2025 15:12

My tax of the view of the beach.

Any guesses where we were?!

I would be in a quandary if there was a general election, tomorrow. Do I support the incumbent labour MP (who survived the red wall going Tory 6 years ago and won with a huge majority, last year) or assume that there will be such a big move away from Labour that I should stick with Libdems who are popular within this university city constituency even if the wider county council has gone turquoise.

Single women will still be deported

If a single woman etc comes to Britain, they will be detained and deported. If a woman comes with children, we will work out the best thing to do.

I’m hoping it will all be much clearer by the actual election @PickAChew . No point in worrying yet.
I am in a bit of a quandary about the Senedd though, after the Greens winning Grangemoor council seat.

And the best thing to do will be to deport, I assume? It’s just distancing himself from something people are. A bit wary of.

Is that the Isle of Wight in the distance @itsgettingweird ?

Saw our first flags on the way into Swansea. Disappointing to see the Welsh flag used in this way as it’s never been used by racists in the same way as the English flag has been at times. One Union flag as well. At least the Welsh flag will be more difficult to paint on roundabouts.

We lost the chance of a decent government decades ago. I'm never going to win the lottery.

Once that has been wedged home, the next objective is to keep Farage and whoever the Tory leader is as far away from power as possible.

Right that that still looks like Labour. However we'll have to see what happens in the next few years and who is most likely to keep them out then.

It's suboptimal. But still no excuse for voting for neo fascists or indeed fascists.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2025 15:30

Slightly longer drive out today. One Union Flag on a makeshift flagpole which could be from VJ Day.

The county of Robinson and Tate seems unmoved.

Seeing as the BBC love Farage so much and love to give him excessive airtime, I'm going to suggest to them that they do an episode of Who Do You Think You Are on him. I wonder how far back in his family tree they would need to go until they discovered 'immigrants'?

Could make interesting viewing.
