Tell me your first celebrity crush

Mine was Richard Hammond. I walked in the living room at my nans when I was about 5 and he was on the screen with a seashell necklace on. I audibly said “wow” and my brother to this day makes fun of me for it relentlessly. My husband genuinely despises Richard Hammond which is pretty funny, he sees him as competition.

Also I used to really really like the Scottish engines from Thomas the Tank Donald and Douglas I think.

This is so funny!
Mine were Patrick Duffy in Dallas, Tom Selleck as Magnum PI (still would tbh😄) and John Travolta in Grease.
Depressingly, perhaps, a lot of the blokes my mum deemed 'dishy' I get now. She can keep Cliff Rchard though..

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2025 15:03

Can’t see the appeal of Cliff Richard tbh.
Dh said his first celeb crush was Daisy Duke from the ‘ dukes of hazzard’ ! I can see that myself too! Lol

LittleBitofBread · 22/08/2025 15:04

Can't believe no one's invoked the fox from the Disney Robin Hood Grin
Or are we doing only normal human crushes?
But I think he was mine.

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2025 15:04

David Essex is still very nice looking. The late
Terence stamp too.

Kermit the Frig.
Adam Ant.

Kermit the Frig is a Freudian slip, surely?

LittleBitofBread · 22/08/2025 15:05

Kermit the Frig is a Freudian slip, surely?

Certainly is.🙈

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2025 15:12

Kevin Costner in ‘ the body guard’
She was such a cow to him!
( I do seem to have a lot of crushes, but never met any of them!)

Namechange032025 · 22/08/2025 15:12

Phillip Schofield 😂

Think I stand even less of a chance now.

MrsToddsShortcut · 22/08/2025 15:12

Peter Purves when I was very young. He just seemed so solid and capable and had such a nice face.

Then Captain Kirk. Also capable but steely and somehow dangerous. But I had to be very clear that it was Captain Kirk and not William Shatner. Sadly that didn’t stop a lad in my class running around the playground shouting ‘MrsTodd loves T J Hooker’ Oh the shame…

Then it was Patrick Duffy. I loved him! My Grandma gave me a Dallas calendar that was free with The Mirror. Patrick was September so
it was permanently September in my room. Embarrassingly there ended up being a patch of white in the middle of his face where I’d kissed his picture goodnight every evening! I was 9.

Oh yes, me too! Also, Andy Crane. The Broom Cupboard boys. Not Edd The Duck, though.

UnimatrixZeroOne · 22/08/2025 15:23

Lindsey Wagner (The Bionic Woman). I used to lie in my stomach as close to the telly as possible when it was on. I was about 11 or 12. My bother used to taunt me, calling me a lesbian. Well, dur.

Then Kate Jackson (Charlie's Angels). Same as above.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 22/08/2025 15:25

Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide. Back in the Dark Ages when I was about 12.

Ilovegermany · 22/08/2025 15:26

Harrison Ford in the first Star Wars. Can’t remember which year I first watched it on ITV but I must have been around 10.

TheFormidableMrsC · 22/08/2025 15:27

Donny Osmond 😍. My mum said I used to throw myself at the floor in front of the telly when he was on. He was swiftly followed by David Cassidy.

Downtoyou · 22/08/2025 15:28

Dieter Brummer who played Shane in Home and Away, he sadly passed away a few years ago in his 40s.

AntiBullshit · 22/08/2025 15:30

Jonathan Crombie - Gilbert in Anne of Green gables

And Paul McGann in The Monocled Mutineer

Recently it was Richard Amatage until I saw him in the recent drama where he was shagging his sons GF and he had a wank on the bed they (son and gf) had slept in - put me right off him

Yiayoula · 22/08/2025 15:32

Elvis
First, last and always.
Luckily DH likes him too , though not in the same way !

mumisfull · 22/08/2025 15:33

Shakin Stevens in his double denim was my first love.
After that, I fell for David Essex and Columbo. Still have a soft spot now!

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2025 15:35

Shaky was lovely in the 80s!

2025mustbebetter · 22/08/2025 15:35
