Mine was Richard Hammond. I walked in the living room at my nans when I was about 5 and he was on the screen with a seashell necklace on. I audibly said “wow” and my brother to this day makes fun of me for it relentlessly. My husband genuinely despises Richard Hammond which is pretty funny, he sees him as competition.

Also I used to really really like the Scottish engines from Thomas the Tank Donald and Douglas I think.

Violetparis · 22/08/2025 13:37

Andrew Ridgeley especially when he was dressed as a pilot in the Club Tropicana video.

SunflowerLife · 22/08/2025 13:40

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Kermit is a good choice but Miss Piggy can definitely fight so I wouldn’t go near him

I still love him and I'm not afraid of Piggy. I'll fight for my froggy love.

What's weird is even after all these years I still consider Kermit to be a person and not a puppet.ConfusedBlushGrin

Dontcallmescarface · 22/08/2025 13:43

Marc Bolan. 8 year old me was smitten.

Kermit the Frig.
Adam Ant.

the Frig? Like a sweary frog? He did have a lovely voice, though, Kermit.
Another David Essex fan here. In his prime 70s pin up mode. SO handsome and had a naughty twinkle about him.

Jason Bateman when he starred in It’s Your Move. Swooned over him as a tween. I still swoon over him when menopause allows me to. 😆

draineddaughter · 22/08/2025 13:50

Jason Donovan 🥰

Oh yes, Jason Bateman is very cute. I think Jennifer Aniston dated him, they'd have made a nice couple.

Donny Osmond

Followed by Kevin Keegan, Rock Hudson & Cary Grant

This week (!) slightly younger Liam Neeson. The chap in Butterfly on Netflix with the very chiselled cheekbones and jaw - think he was also in The Resident or similar

the80sweregreat · 22/08/2025 13:57

Watched a programme with a woman obsessed with her ex ( can’t remember the name of it ) and he was gorgeous. Not my first celebrity crush though ! Lol
( he looked like a younger, better looking Bob Geldof)

No there was quite a hot lad in it—Spiller, played by Daniel Newman. Got some Tom Hardy lips on him.

Yes that’s him! Also in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Livpool · 22/08/2025 14:21

John Lennon when I watch A Hard Day’s Night when I was about 8

TomatoSandwiches · 22/08/2025 14:24

Gary Barlow, still sing A Million Love Songs in the shower 30yrs on 😂

Piffle11 · 22/08/2025 14:27

Leif Garrett when I was about 10.

The ‘I was made for Dancing’ time.

Justtryingthis · 22/08/2025 14:29

Robin Cousins the Ice Skater 😆

Yellowdresses · 22/08/2025 14:31

Art Garfunkle - those soulful eyes, that lovely curly hair.

I loved Bright Eyes.

TomatoSandwiches · 22/08/2025 14:31

I think a close second was Kevin Costner in Robin Hood, tbh I think he's only got better with age.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 22/08/2025 14:34

Jonathan Brandis in SeaQuest DSV. Loved that programme! Poor lad died years ago by suicide.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 22/08/2025 14:40

Jamie McCrimmon from Doctor Who, as played by Frazer Hines. Sigh. I was about four and I STILL have a thing for men in kilts.

The best Robin Hood was surely Michael Praed. Swoon.

backslashruby · 22/08/2025 14:49

Andy Fairweather - low.

I never saw the appeal of Leo, even though I was exactly the right age to be desperately in love with him. At that time I was all about the bad boys of sport—Eric Cantona and Ronnie O' Sullivan.

I think I was in love lol

ghostyslovesheets · 22/08/2025 14:55

This guy - I would have been about 11? Him and his grail shaped lanterns!

David Soul in Starsky and Hutch, to my eternal shame. Later, Adam Ant 😍

Mine are exactly the same. Not ashamed of Adam Ant though.
