A Jewish teenager was shot with an air rifle and swastikas were daubed on a rabbi’s home in a series of anti-Semitic attacks.
The teenager was shot from a passing car as he was walking to a synagogue in the East Cliff area of Bournemouth, Dorset, on Saturday afternoon.
The attacker shouted obscenities before shooting the teenager, who was not seriously hurt, in the forehead.
Elsewhere, swastikas were graffitied on to the homes of Jewish community leaders in an overnight attack reported to police on Saturday afternoon.
Rabbi Benzion Alperowitz spotted the black Nazi symbol on his home as he walked out with his children on Sunday morning. He said: “We discovered that some cowards had visited our home and decorated it [with swastikas].
