A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. Labour isn't working!

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

We only retrieve the ones specifically bred for shooting. No wild birds ie ducks etc!

No judgement from me hun, I love watching them work and would do it myself if I could. I'm just too much of a wimp lol. Some of my wcs have been hunting rejects who didn't make the grade. It's very good for the dogs.

@NoWordForFluffy He/she is gorgeous! Love a fox red lab. The carrot cigar 😂

It's fine I know it's a contentious issue, I seem to be drawn to them 🤣🤣

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has backed Rushanara Ali.
Reeves says Ali 'seems to have done everything in accordance with the law'. She also said she doesn't understand why the conservatives are calling for her resignation.

Looks like Labour are doubling down and backing Ali.

Yes heard a minister this morning on the radio (can’t remember which one) parroting that same thing to Nick Ferrari.
Just apalling obfuscation.

And therein lies the problem with Labour in one sentence!

Our dog is a he (I'm sure you noticed the washing line prop too, @TheNuthatch 🤣). He bloody loves a 🥕

I didn’t hear it but everything is like this. God knows how anyone trusts what they say.

They are like that with everything though. Just parrot pre-prepared soundbites and 100% obfuscation.
They are all, without exception, mendacious liars.

Yep you’ve got it.

More trouble ahead - 4 percent inflation, possibly the last rate cut this year…

Interest rates are cut but Bank warns of new UK inflation shock

Sure that will be a "surprise" to Labour 🙄

Arrearing50 · 07/08/2025 14:52

Yes they’re clearly facing the completely unpredictable and surprising inflationary results of increasing costs on major food retailers (and everyone else).

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 07/08/2025 14:54

I had a building project priced in 2022. Now re-priced as going ahead in 2025. 157k to 188k. Same reputable builder.

Parsley4321 · 07/08/2025 14:56

It’s a shock to Labour but not to anyone else
sorry for dog derail 😜

Arrearing50 · 07/08/2025 15:13

ouch @MrsGuyOfGisbo ! Always happy for a dog derail - mine is from a show dog line though and he definitely doesn’t do much except strut about looking for adoration.

Absentmindedsmile · 07/08/2025 17:13

She’s not going to be sacked? Says it all. Plebs - this is what your masters think of you.

twistyizzy · 07/08/2025 17:24

They are all Teflon. No accountability or admission of fault.

TheNuthatch · 07/08/2025 20:32

Thanks for the times link @Arrearing50. All entirely predictable when they went after business in a fragile economy. The inflation stats are worrying, especially when you consider that ours will be much higher than the US and the EU. It's all so much worse than it was when Labour came in.

Shocking from Labour that Ali hasn't been sacked. Her position is totally untenable. This really sums them up doesn't it.
It really doesn't get much worse than a homelessness minister making people homeless. Apparently Starmer thinks it's fine.

4 more years.

What will be left after 4 more years?
Job market is shot, economy shot, education shot, prospects for graduates shot, local communities torn apart......how the fuck can it get worse at this stage?

TheNuthatch · 07/08/2025 20:39

Ali has now resigned.

Starmer's response to her resignation letter reads like a glowing review. I don't think she's lost the whip, just resigned as a minister.

Of course they’re all propping each other up at this point. Pathetic.

He doesn’t think she should be sacked. What the hell are we dealing with here?? I can hardly imagine. well. We don’t need to do we. 🤢🤑😵‍💫🤯🤯🤯🤯
