A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. Labour isn't working!

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Imagine how the Labour mafia would respond if Any other politician did this or similar. But funnily enough, it’s silenzio from them so far.

Oh she has to be. This week, they can’t not sack her surely?

We’ve got cats and dogs galore 😁 (and cute though definitely unwanted foxes)

Let's see. Starmer hasn't sacked Reynolds for pretending to be a solicitor, and he dragged his heels with Tulip Siddiq.

(Your menagerie sounds fab 😁. I'm under strict orders for no more pets from dh. The dc's rats were the straw that broke the camels back 😂)

I hear that labour have sacked and rejigged their comms team again - idk how you can make a lot of this look good though. One thought from the rest is politics is that Starmer needs to talk to the public more - I don’t think that’ll work for them, a lot of people thought Starmer and Reeves looked ok for a bit but on closer inspection…

Talking to the public is the issue. They’re too painful.

What? Rats are such good pets!! 🤷‍♀️😁
(they are, really!)

Absentmindedsmile · 07/08/2025 11:08

Well he can’t drag his heels on this one. There’d be a revolt, all Labour supporters will despise this out right greed, particularly considering her (honourable 🤢🤢) post.

God no! Talking to the public is the worst thing Starmer can do. Every time he opens his mouth his reputation worsens.
Even Campbell himself couldn't spin this lot.

Think that they’ve been spectacularly inept with their sound bites and being on message - they do repeat the line etc but never show any heart or sympathy for people they’re making worse off and most of them deliver things as though they’re chewing something unpleasant at the same time.

EasternStandard · 07/08/2025 11:13

It’s that mix of lying, sneering superiority snd cluelessness.

Talking even more just means more of that. Many loathe them already.

Agree with this.
Would also add a total lack of contrition, and not even a hint of trying to govern for all.

Yes - ‘we had to tax parents of kids in private school to pay for state schools’ - err, no you didn’t! You absolutely did not have to do that, this wasn’t your only option. You didn’t have to introduce the policy mid year either. You didn’t have to give the public sector pay rises not tied to any reforms, no.

and as for the minister for homelessness making people homeless, Starmer’s child’s GCSEs couldn’t be disrupted so he needed a free luxury flat but he was happy to tear up the education of other kids.

and we wonder why the democratic consensus has frayed?

If I wasn’t living in Britain I would find what is going on with the Labour government hilarious. They really are a bunch of hypocrites and I swear their mantra should be: “it’s alright for me but not for thee.” They pontificate and moralise to the rest of us, slammed the last government for being corrupt and yet these clowns are no better.

God help us between now and the next election - I can’t think of one policy that has benefited the country. This debacle with the homelessness minister could not be made up.

I’m not quite looking back at the halcyon days of Liz Truss but Boris and Rishi seem like a dream in comparison and I NEVER thought I’d feel like that!

BTW, no working dogs here but I do have a manic Jack Russell!

@NoWordForFluffy Welcome. Great to have you on the thread. I'm used to discussing our shared love of outdoor drying with you 😂.
@twistyizzy Yey! Another lover of the working cocker. I adore the breed, have had them for decades now. My latest addition is the real deal! Full on FTC champion lines. I thought I knew what I was doing with WCs until I bought her 😂. She makes all my other WCs (past and present) look calm and collected. She is chaos on 4 legs, but bloody awesome. Being on the moors with a spanner and a whistle is my happy place.

Are you going to work her?
Here is mine loving her life

And the hypocrisy. All of the above is on here too.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2025 12:04

I'm not sure any comms team can do much better that the allegedly sacked one. Look at the messages they've got to work with!

TheNuthatch · 07/08/2025 12:26

@twistyizzy oh wow, she's stunning. How gorgeous.
No I don't hunt. I like birds too much. I'm also a twitcher. 😂.
I work and train with dummies though, so similar.
Here she is, waiting for the 'go' whistle.

Yes agree with everything here. They're also making the country feel more divided than ever with their spite and labels imo.

(Love JRTs 😁)

We only retrieve the ones specifically bred for shooting. No wild birds ie ducks etc!
