I was reading a book that said that the most succesful people get up at 5am.

What do you think. What time do you get up at?

My DH gets up at 5am, this is great because it gives him plenty of time to clean the kitchen and empty the dishwasher, preparing the stage for me to waft down at 8.00 and produce our breakfast.

When the dcs were little I was regularly up at 5am on account of being rudely woken up by them. I can categorically say I was not more inspired and brilliant as a result. Give me an 8am start any day, and I'll be brilliant at about 11pm. Love the idea of being an early riser, but I just feel like a corpse.

Me too. I’ve tried it for work for 2 months and it never got better. I am a night owl and was much happier doing actual night shift than 6am starts, I never felt like anything at work made sense till after 8am anyway, and find it very difficult to get to bed before 12.

And my DIL gets up very early to go to the gym for an hour, shower and then come home to give her girls breakfast and get them off to school.

I feel really sorry for your DIL if she’s doing it because that’s the only time she can get to the gym - I do it myself but at least I’m choosing that time because I prefer it! I hope it’s the same for her.

Oh my god that book.....I tried to read it and found it unreadable!

I'm a mid ranger. I can do early, I can do late, but happy getting up around 6-7 and bed around 10-11. Sometimes the odd early night and sometimes the odd lay in.

When i was younger and well
I would get up at 4.40am , and leave the house at 4.50am to get to work for 7.30am and would work till 6.30 and get home by 8pm. Christ knows how i did it
Just thinking about that now makes me tired 🤣

Why did it take you 2h and 40m to get to work but only 1h 30m to get home? What a dreadful commute to work dreadful hours.

My guess is that public transport was better in the evenings.

Yes, she's definitely an early morning person. When her DC were small she was often up before them. Now she sees the gym as an enjoyable start to her day.

I can honestly say the best I’ve ever felt was when I was getting up at 5 am (went to bed for half eight, asleep by half nine)

can’t say it brought me success in terms of finances but in terms of health and happiness I was successful.

(got pregnant and have never got back into it, but I plan to)

Currently waking at 5/5.30 thanks to my toddler and I am not a fan. I’m so unproductive and tired!

9.30am is an early start for me.
Normal time to role out of bed is around 10am sometimes later much later.

Wow that is my dream 😍. I have a 2 year old so not my reality right now
