What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

Smoothie - spinach, apple, banana, vanilla protein powder, peanut butter, milk, ice

Greek yogurt with raspberries, blueberries, honey, mixed seeds, chia seeds

Spaghetti bolognaise with grated cheese and fine green beans

Yesterday I had:

B: Clear protein drink
S: Banana
L: Babybel lights and a packet of hula hoops
S: Two slices of Edam cheese
D: Minted lamb burger/steak thing with stuffed mushrooms.

Skinny whip bar, pot of cottage cheese with pineapple. Dinner will be a jacket potato with baked beans for me, homemade chilli and jacket for the family.

Only fruit and cake so far.

Shortly about to do pasta with vegetables and tuna, tonight is jacket potatoes with cheese and baked beans.

@afaloren are the clear protein shakes nice? I’m looking to try and increase my protein intake but hate the milkshake type ones.

All the food today sounds so good, I’d happily eat everything mentioned!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Low fat yoghurt with peanut butter, nectarine and strawberries. An Americano

Lunch- Homemade roasted tomato, pepper and lentil soup with some feta and seeds scattered on top.
1/2 a packet of salted dark chocolate almonds and some cherries.

Snack- A watermelon and lime ice-lolly (I made them with my son so they’re just juice)

Dinner- 1/4 of a wholemeal quesadilla (I was testing that it wasn’t too hot for the kids and got carried away 😂)
Lamb kofte with salad, tzatziki and a wholemeal pitta bread. Homemade ‘chips’ (potatoes cut into chip shapes and roasted with olive oil, garlic, salt and herbs).

I really like them! I don’t like the milkshake type either, they always taste grainy to me and they’re too thick.

I like the My Protein Clear Whey Protein. At the moment I’m working my way through a massive tub of Vimto flavour. I think you can get a selection pack of individual sachets to try the different flavours.

Today will be:
Porridge, strawberry jam, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds

Salad with eggs, carrots, tomatoes, apple, onion, oatmeal soda bread and a banana

Tuna pasta bake and raspberry crumble.

Cheese on toasted sourdough, cucumber sticks, houmous

Sweet potato, peppers & mixed bean chilli with rice, creme fraiche, coriander

Dates, dark chocolate

Later I'll do my favourite potato and lentil stew with herbs, onions, carrots and green beans. I was given a tin of fake beef stock which I add. Perhaps prunes and ice cream for afters.

Lunch: Tomato & mozzarella salad with basil, watermelon

Dinner (not made yet): prob some sort of lentil, bean, feta salad

Nothing this morning.

Nando’s at 4.30pm after some very successful school inform shopping with the DC. Had the new Caesar wrap and it was lovely. Peri Peri fries too. And DD and I shared some chicken thighs to try them out.

Been gardening since I came home and just had a bowl of M&S crisps - the ones with all the different shapes - squares, tubes and puffs all in one bag, and a beer. I’m shattered as worked hard in the garden and it’s really humid.

Lunch: cheese and piccalilli seeded sourdough sandwich

Dinner: tempura prawns and butternut squash air fried chips, strawberries and blueberries with natural yogurt

Just made some chilli chickpeas for my bath snack

Plus 9 thousand cups of tea 🙈

Pasta puttanesca with salad
Blueberries, raspberries, strawberry, banana with full fat greek yoghurt, flax seeds, chia seeds and sprinkling of granola

Snacks - couple bits of Tony's chocolate, 3 bread sticks and an Arctic iced coffee, cup of tea and a lemon sherbet sweet
