Best crisps ever

What are they, in your opinion?

I want crisps.
I love them all though.
I can't go buy 20 different varieties.
(Or can I? 🤔)
There'll definitely be some Kettle Chips Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar in my basket.

What else should I get?

Brannigans beef and mustard but don't exhale through your nose while eating them

Is this trolling, as I think they are actually lost forever? 😔

Meadowflower2023 · 05/07/2025 21:11

Tyrrell’s mature cheddar and chive (the yellow packet ones) I’m not a huge crisp fan but these are divine!

Seabrooks every time. Canadian ham being my favourite! Reasonable priced too, so happy they are now available in the south of the country.

May I ask where you are buying these? I’m in Devon and have to wait until I visit family in Norfolk to stock up.

You are all completely wrong. The best crisps ever are Tayto cheese and onion (NI not RoI, of course).

Crisps are life.

Do you mean seabrook crisps in general or this flavour?

Morrisons and asda near me do the best range and b and m quite good too.. I live in Bucks.

I can remember getting family to buy them for me when I first moved south 30 years ago!

TheDogsMother · 05/07/2025 23:12

Co-op Sea salt and Chardonnay Vinegar are fantastic. As my Irish Granny would say though they do draw your arse up to your oxters.

baffledpuzzledandconfused · 05/07/2025 23:27

Seabrooks every time…no question

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 05/07/2025 23:36

Why did Brannigan’s go out of business?? 😫 The roast beef and English mustard were god tier crisps.

Co Op Specially Selected Salt and Vinegar are THE BEST salt and vinegar crisps on the planet - many many mumsnet threads on this

I didn't believe this....until I tried them.

I am now a complete convert. The other front runner for me are Waitrose Salt and Vinegar, used to be my faves but now relegated to second place behind Co Op specially selected.

fridaynightbeers · 06/07/2025 08:19

I like pipers cheddar and onion. Slabs are delicious but I’m not convinced of their “crisp” credentials as they’re too thick to be crisp 🤔

Well I didn’t get to the shops yesterday so still reading and taking notes 😅

I’ve heard of most of the ones mentioned, but not beef chips. Are they a regional specialty?

It’s the ham flavour I am after. I can find other flavours but never the ham.

Having said that Aldi currently has them in a mixed flavour multi pack but I’m not so keen on the other flavours
