Oasis. Heaton Park. What do I do?

Got tickets for one of the concerts when they were released last year.
Got two tickets- one for disabled daughter + AN other.
DD was taking friend. Friend now can’t go - so I have to go.
No problem with that apart from the fact when I’m going anywhere , I plan everything in advance, pay for parking/hotel , print everything off etc .
I do this because I have terrible arthritis in my knee and can’t walk far.

I don’t know Manchester, have no idea where to park , how to get to Heaton Park. All hotels are booked or £500 it seems.
What TF do I do?
Where can I park? I’m going to look at getting public transport in as close as I can but I’ve got no idea where anything is in Manchester or what to do.
DD is now spiralling picking up on my panic.
Ive got to sort out care for dog & husband as well which I can do but my main worry is getting to the venue in time and getting back to car after concert.

Does anybody have any local knowledge who can advise me please?

Oh, that's a shame - it wasn't there this morning!

Oh no spoilsports.

A bloke in the paper got the hate from everyone by saying he got into a gig by pretending to be a litter picker in a high viz vest. He got the hate for letting everyone know and ruining it for people who were going to try it

Guess security is going to ramped up

@LunaDeBallona what date are you going? Have you been yet?

Hello everybody!
We went last Wednesday.
It was absolutely amazing. I’m not ashamed to say I cried when they walked on stage!
The parking at the school ( thank you @gdclarke ) was fab. Very close to Heaton park and a 5 min walk (and that was through the crowds) tothe accessible gate.
The platform was great, with its own loos but my only gripe was that it was right at the back so even with binoculars you could barely see the figures on the stage - felt a tad like ‘oh just shove the disabled people there’ and the huge middle speaker totally obscured our view of the middle of the stage so we never even saw a glimpse of Liam.
However, the screens were great and they had obviously put a lot of money and thought into what we would see on the screens.
DD got a tshirt (£55 so not horrendous) and I threw caution to the wind and spent £35 on an oasis bucket hat. Apple Pay is a dangerous thing!

But, l don’t think I would have managed without you all. Seriously you helped me so very much. Truly mumsnet at its best -women helping women.

@LunaDeBallona glad you had a fabulous time and the parking worked out for you

bit rubbish about the view from the accessible platform. Glad it didn’t ruin the night

So glad you had a great time!

I went last Weds too, we took the shuttle which was brilliantly organised there & back and the gig was absolutely amazing :)
