Thank you, Havoc, it completely snuck up on me that the old one was that close to being filled.

MissConductUS · 25/06/2025 19:34

bizzey, you probably just need to sign in on the new app for your threads to appear.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 25/06/2025 19:34

Started the new one as previous thread only had one spot remaining to post and worried 😬 it wouldn't be noticed. Hoping Miss will resume being thread mum once this one is full. 🤞

Good catch, and i will happily return to being the thread mum when this one fills up. You have two little ones to care for.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/06/2025 03:32

Ordered baby's half-birthday cake today. We do the 6 month mark for fun with a small cake, nice dinner and something fun to do. Havoc wants to get baby a present and balloons, but I don't wanna go down that rabbit hole! 😬. It's already an extra that not many people do and I don't want to set expectations for gifts all the time. But, I'm thinking playground spray park somewhere different than usual with a picnic.

After ordering the cake we walked the neighbourhood and found a playground so stopped there for a bit. My parking was going to expire so we headed back and stopped at another playground on the way home. Stayed there for about 45 mins, walked around a bit, then headed home again. Then stopped at another playground as I had wanted to take a look at it and stayed about 30 mins. Once home we all had baths, I washed my hair (a story for another time) and baby fell asleep a very short while later. Havoc ate and is now playing quietly which tells me sleep is near. 🤞
I'm having some of the chilli I made yesterday with poached eggs on top. Try it. 😊

Death, you're in my thoughts and I'm hoping you're having good luck finding a home. 🩷

Hello! I’ve been chatting to @MissConductUS and she linked your thread. Hope it’s ok if I pop my head over your garden fence? 👋

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/06/2025 06:48

Hi, Ella. Welcome. 😊

It's lovely to see you here, @EllaDisenchanted, thanks for joining us. Have a seat and I'll make you a cuppa. 😀

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/06/2025 09:31

Still awake, Miss? I just finished vacuuming and steam-mopping. Then cleaned the tracks for the sliding door to the deck. Baby had woken up, so I figured I'd do something until we could get to bed. When I went into the living room to steam clean the area rug Havoc was lying on the couch. 🤷‍♀️ So, they shared a banana and Havoc had some milk then a cry that I wouldn't turn the tv on and we're all finally in bed. 😂

Thank you havoc, for the new thread.

I forgot to update that the presentation went really well!

I had brunch with my SIL yesterday and her two dogs and it was lovely. Her Jack Russell is a puller, so as we were walking them I followed Graham Hall's advice on Dogs Behaving Very Badly. I stopped when he pulled and praised him mightily when he walked nicely beside me and a short firm pull back when he started to pull again. It worked a charm!

My SIL was very impressed.

EllaDisenchanted · 26/06/2025 10:23

thanks @Mumtobabyhavoc :)
I've ignored all my cooking list, housework tasks, and actual work and just spent a good hour and a half writing in my journal. I wouldn't mind a hot chocolate @MissConductUS if you're offering ;)

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/06/2025 11:01

I'm still awake here, so a hot chocolate might be good.
Listening to podcasts and thinking about what I could eat if I got up...
I really need to go to sleep, though.

Ella, I have some lovely hot chocolate mix in the cupboard, coming right up!

Havoc, I had two dental implants placed in my jaw on Monday and it's still rather sore, so I woke up early this morning when the pain relief wore off and couldn't go back to sleep. The good news is that our heat wave broke overnight and it's going to be quite nice today.

MissConductUS · 26/06/2025 13:47

The deck garden has survived the heat wave, thanks to a log of watering. The zinnias in the rectangular container are coming up nicely. They'll get a bit bigger before the flowers open. The last picture is how they looked a month ago after I started them from seeds.

I have decided I need to go to anger management classes /relaxation classes before I next get a new phone !!

I hate , hate , hate having to log back into things ...and obviously...I can't always remember the extra addition to the password that I added ..🤬🤬..

Think it is all done now !
Till I try to use something else which I have to log back into !!

bizzey · 26/06/2025 14:02

Too be fair ...I am actually using both phones at the moment !!

All my games are in old phone and still usable so I don't loose my levels .

I have to start allll over again at level 1 when I start using new phone !

bizzey · 26/06/2025 14:07

Still ...at least old phone is still working which has made the transfer a bit easier !

MissConductUS · 26/06/2025 14:45

Bizzey, I was wondering how your phone transfer was going. It's always a bit of work, but hopefully it won't have to be done again anytime soon and the new phone will have some features you like. What phone did you get?

Havoc, I hope you got some sleep.

Ella, we all need a break from day to day chores, and journaling sounds like a lovely way to take one.

I'm going to look for the duck and ducklings later today at the reservoir.

EllaDisenchanted · 26/06/2025 15:35

I keep Cadbury’s hot chocolate in the freezer, and the kids are banned from touching it. I’m originally from the UK, and moved to Israel a few years ago. We get chocolate powder here, but Cadbury’s only in a few shops, and it costs a fortune, so it’s my personal treat so the kids have the local stuff (too sweet for me) . DH recently picked me up some Benedict’s bittermints and my goodness I’m savouring them!

EllaDisenchanted · 26/06/2025 15:37

Done some work this afternoon, then went for a short walk and chat to a friend in the UK. Couldn’t go for long, too hot! Will probably go this evening if I can.
@bizzey dont your games transfer through Google play or something ? Does it definitely reset you to level 1? How annoying!

MissConductUS · 26/06/2025 16:07

Ella, we've all been complaining about the heat in the US and the UK. I'm sure Israel is much hotter.

You must have well behaved children if they stay away from your Cadbury's. 😁

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/06/2025 17:03

Ella, What is it like living in Israel? I imagine quite stressful with all the conflict?

EllaDisenchanted · 26/06/2025 18:14

Miss - high 80s low 90s atm, so pretty hot.

Havoc - normally it’s great, although terror attacks and rockets are always a background risk, even in peace times. Since October 7th it’s been challenging in lots of ways to say the least, but I still love being here. I’m Jewish and religious and all of my family live here, so it’s amazing to be near my family, and also be able to celebrate religious holidays, just as part of regular life. The supermarket we go to reminds me of aldi (but way more chaotic) in that it has a seasonal aisle which changes all the time and I love seeing the different Jewish festival things being stocked.
The Houthi attacks in the last few months had stepped up, and were quite disruptive, but the last two weeks were on another level of stress and exhaustion.
I’m just trying to get back into ‘normal’ routine but it’s not easy to just suddenly switch modes, when you’ve been on high alert for weeks.
