Why are you up this early on the summer solstice?

I am just leaving to pick up a friend to go for a swim and watch the sun come up

I’m about to take the dogs out for a walk before it gets too warm. There is something rather special about being out before anyone else, very peaceful and relaxing.

DS came to my bed as it got too hot in his room. Perimenopausal me is finding it impossible to go back to sleep. Getting peckish now and wondering whether to get up or not.

A swim and watching the sunrise sounds like an amazing plan!

I wish it was for a nice swim or dog walk or something! But I just have a thyroid disorder and find sleep very difficult 🫠 Went to bed at half past midnight and have been awake since 3.40am 😔

Had a huge tooth out yesterday and it’s still bleeding and very sore. Just had some paracetamol and lying with an ice pack on it as it’s swollen. It’s also too hot to sleep and my poor baby has been tossing and turning all night too

Have to go on a massive trip today and I’m too anxious to sleep

A swim would be fabulous. I'm awake because I'm me.

I’m driving my son and his friend to a sandy beach before it fills with people to film his A-level short film.

Managed to catch the live stream of Stonehenge sunrise.

It’s too warm to try and get back to sleep

Mainly pain tbh, but trying to turn it into enjoying the day break.

DH just woke up screaming because he had cramp. He’s obviously gone straight back to sleep. 😂 I had a social event yesterday so my brain is trying to go over everything I said.

Solstice swim in Lewes!

DC just woke up shouting, went back to sleep after about two minutes but I'm wide awake, even though I'm also knackered!

Picking up DD from university today - she has to be out of halls by 10am and we live 3.5hrs away 😟

I woke up with a work discussion going around and around my head, replaying what should have been said and why that would have been better. I’m now sitting drinking decaf tea watching the sunrise.

Park run in 4 hours! It will be a hot one.

Literally same! LO woke up “mummy can I go in your bed” so now I’m melting and wide awake, while LO and his dad are snoozing.

Up with 19 month old, it's going to be a long day

I’m in a different time zone and have just got into bed! Still Friday night here.

Chronic pain keeps me awake. There's a beautiful low mist outside this morning. Despite being shattered I do like being the only one awake at this time, along with the birds singing!

Leaving our lovely holiday villa this morning. Really don’t want to go back. Couldn’t sleep so just got up, sat in the stillness of the dawn by the pool with a curious little stray ginger cat and watched the beautiful sunrise.
