Why are you up this early on the summer solstice?

I am just leaving to pick up a friend to go for a swim and watch the sun come up

I was bombarded by a mosquito. Little bastard has had me a couple of times it seems.

It’s a beautiful morning though, I wish I was going in the sea. Planning to do so this evening if I have the energy.

It’s also my dbro’s birthday, he’d be 53 today if he hadn’t been killed in a car accident last year😢

Enjoying the cool breeze before a scorcher of a day - trying to get some housework done before it gets warm and will doze in the garden later.

I'm off to the coast for the day,I've been faffing about putting things in my bag then deciding I don't need them then thinking of changing bags, the outcome was I kept the original bag and put most things back in 😄

Because l have a crap disease called primary hyperparathyroidism, which is nothing to do with my thyroid, which is affecting every cell in my body, including my brain cells,which causes chronic insomnia among about 20 other symptoms🥲. And I also have hypothyroidism as half my thyroid was removed during failed surgery to try and cure the phpt. We sufferers usually abbreviate as it’s such a long name.

Up at 4 because of the heat and menopause, love this time of day. All windows and doors open to get the cool air through.

Also its my day off so I want to make the most of it, currently cuddling a dog.

Let the cat out at 4 30, but he's now lying next to me (he's a lovely hot water bottle when the flat is 27c 🙄). Will jump in the shower in a bit, then go to the shops before it gets busy and let the cats out whilst it's cool.

Been awake most of the night. Combination of chronic pain & being too hot.
But mainly been up since 04.30 as cats want their breakfast. It's an hour too early but they've been mopping around too hot and I've no chance of staying in bed because they will keep jumping on me till I get up.

I'm up because I have a really bad painful sore throat.

I'm up because I'm going to parkrun. But it's winter solstice here and it's currently 1°C.

I'd rather be in the heat tbh

I'm awake because I slept in my garden last night so I could see the sunset and sunrise.

I'm just lying in my garden furniture nest cuddling a cat and enjoying the peace.

My cats thought I was completely mad for sleeping in the garden 😸

Cat

Been out with the hounds at 4am; they’re now fed and settling in for some snoozing. Opened the house up to take advantage of the cool air and currently enjoying a pot of tea sat in the garden. Husband is heading to a meeting in N Wales, so plotting my day of doing nothing but watching telly & reading in peace!

Woke up about 90 mins ago and was too warm. DH is doing an impression of a steam train as he sleeps so came downstairs with the intention of getting another hour or two but can’t sleep so scrolling through Mumsnet in front of the fan

Woke up early yo open all tne windows before it gets too hot.

I had a family gathering yesterday that upset me and I've hardly been able to sleep all night. Maybe napped on and off between 12.30 and 4 but I'm definitely wide awake now. Im going to pay for this later. 😔

Because I drank too much last night and woke up at 4am feeling rough. Now lying in the garden, still feeling rough.

I always wake up at around 4/4.30 am. This morning my little cat was being loud and insistent that it was time for breakfast at 3.45 am. I gave in and fed her, but couldn't get back to sleep even for a doze, so I'm currently drinking tea lying in bed. I'll be up and out early to walk down to the shop to collect something before it gets too hot.

Off to Whitby this morning in the campervan and woke up with a list of things to do before we go in my head. Plus I’m recovering from Covid ( 4 weeks of being ill) so my sleep is disrupted.
