They must of been advised to do so though

Can’t see it- they were talking about this the other day.
Basically remember everything the Irish couple could have done to get it sorted they would have. Taking him to court was what they did- in 2023. Their case is settled- he’s just evading his fine

Edited

He's not going to be allowed to evade it

Exactly.

Also if you go on to the IPO website their first story is 23&me fined millions for failing to protect users’ data.
So their dreams of getting a list of all 370k usernames and emails is just that- a fantasy. User data and privacy, GDPR just not gonna happen folks.
Anyways get the blasted thing shut down already.

safetyfreak · 17/06/2025 19:49

I think sometimes it went too far but, there also great threads on there...great investigation work, like with the Tom Moore, daughter thread.

Its a shame and I think its a slipperly slope with free speech.

kirinm · 17/06/2025 21:13

The people on that forum absolutely went for a couple who lost their baby to cancer. It was rabid hatred.

kirinm · 17/06/2025 21:14

They also posted where influencers lived. It’s pretty sick. I know people like to claim they were holding people to account but it was online bullying that crossed over to stalking and being really threatening.

Yep I think you're right. The sooner it is shut down the better now.

TERFlawnBOY · 17/06/2025 21:50

Whatever TL’s website’s future, they need to ban ANY discussion of ANY child. Full stop. Disgusting that it’s allowed in the first place.

PassingStranger · 17/06/2025 23:37

timetochangethering · 13/06/2025 18:53

TBH it really needs to close as there is some awful stuff on there.... and some pretty toxic posters.

Yes sad creatures, spend all.their time spying on people then running them down.
Get a life.
Also the people they are running down couldn't give a shit about them.

NeelyOHara · 18/06/2025 06:34

Tattle were the only places where Philip Schofield and Tom Moores daughter’s actions were even allowed to be discussed.

Remmy123 · 18/06/2025 06:57

Tattle has however called out these money grabbing child flogging influencers for not declaring paid ads!!

the disclosing of addresses etc is disturbing of course - if your going to display your kid all over instagram with thier school uniform on your asking for trouble!

Henrysmycat · 18/06/2025 06:58

I think they sound ban any idiot cosplaying influencer with pimping their kids on SM for a bag of supermarket frozen chips. If these people wouldn’t do that tattle wouldn’t exist.

This is what I don't really understand... it's ok for influencers to essentially use their child as an employee, share images of their child in vulnerable states yet they seem ok with that?
Honestly social media is the worst now and just thinking about it and how I've contributed to the rise of these influencers in the past makes me feel sick.

Change9944 · 18/06/2025 09:24

So IF and I say IF details are ordered to be released what use are these details?
A list of throwaway gmail addresses that people are more than likely to have used?
Then what do these influencers want with these addresses, what will it achieve?

This is what I'd like to know.

So they publish a list of email addresses - are they thinking people are going to say "oh, that's my friend's email address"? And out them that way?

Surely releasing that info would be a huge GDPR breach? Like if mumsnet released our details?

A list of disposable email addresses are going to be absolutely pointless.

They won’t be able to get those details. Look, the Irish couple didn’t and they’ve been to court and settled their case.
If there was more coming the Irish couple would have said something like “round 2 in court, tattlers unmasked” or something like that. But they didn’t. All the influencers now just think by going after him and making the site too notorious then they’ll get it shut down.
What I can see maybe happening is he gets ordered to improve moderation and/or ensure anyone who wants their threads taken down get it. You can’t police speech in this way. It might be toxic as hell but that’s the internet for you. I say again look at the case of Ask.fm. Implicated in actual suicides of kids- users didn’t get identified. It got bought out and they tried to improve it but then got shut down (good).

Oh I don't think it's realistic that the details are going to be released but some influencers really do think this.

Yes, as much as influencers, eg Mrs Hinch, are rooting for individual naming and shaming, it'll not happen, they are naive claiming it will, it's just scare tactics and I suppose a small bit of revenge.

Arraminta · 18/06/2025 11:46

The Tattle Mumsnet threads remind me of how it used to be on here 10 years ago. Robust yes, but generally very sardonic and intelligently written (and highly amusing).

It was Tattle who exposed the famous midwife influencer that was sock puppeting on there and making racist remarks, wasn't it? That's no bad thing.

It is more disgusting that kids are exploited by these influencers and are online at all.
I agree though, children shouldn’t be discussed.

I agree. The MN threads are often very funny. Or very DFunny, as they’d probably say 😂

People should not have to beg to get defamatory posts taken down about them. I emailed the site twice - about the posts made about me knowing that nothing would be done. That really isn't good enough. Anything that really crosses the line should go.

You can’t compare this case to a case that happened over a decade ago. Fortunately, there has been huge progress with laws surrounding defamation etc since then.
For example there’s a certain order where the victim can seek out identities in a defamation case. It is costly yes but if they wants to seek identities they can. What they do with that information is another thing.
