Holiday today 😃

Going on holiday today everyone is very excited . I'm shitting it at the same time though.

I need to get to Liverpool street station. My original thought is to get the bus all the way there I think it said 1hr 20 min. Or I could get a train with 2 changes which would take me about half the time. But once im on the bus I don't have to worry . So maybe I should stick to that.

As we are getting to the resort late about 10.30pm will there be any food available? Just snacks or something. We are all inclusive which includes main meals, snack s drinks

The food at all inclusive hotels is never great but logically it can’t be when you’re mass catering for 100’s of people.
What are the snacks like? Does the pool have an outside pool fast food type place you could use for lunch instead of main restaurant and what about ice cream there are usually set ice cream times during the afternoon. After a little nap/rest the boys will be eager to get back in the pool.
Hope you’re having a great time, the hotel looked nice from the photos you posted.

How hot is it @Youagain2025? Was the kids entertainment good last night?

Youagain2025 · 13/06/2025 12:58

The food here is shit 😅 I'm almost living on water melon and cake.

The heat is getting to us a bit so we have come to chill in the room.

Ds10 says he can't wait to go home. He says they tricked us and it needs a 1 star 😅

Oh no what food are they serving ? Is it different every day ?

Getting hot can be a pain, no harm cooling down in room or balcony or keep getting in and out of the pool.

I know we go to America so we are usually in temps of up to 38 and I find when out or at parks popping into shops where they have fantastic air con, cooling down then back on our way.

It definitely takes a couple of days to acclimatise and then you barely notice how hot it is. Most people alternate between outdoors and indoors.

If you don't want to hang around the pool is there a shopping place /area, centre, where you can get to see things but be able to keep cool going in and out of shops maybe get an ice-cream or cold drink and have it in a shaded area.

Yeah it's just an us thing with food really . There are lots of people with plateful of food so it can't be bad 😅

There's icecream/lolly slush ,crisps. The little take away type one have massive ques i tried yesterday and moved up 1 person in 15 mins.

What sort of food is available?

As for the heat, chilling out (literally) in the air conditioning is fine for a bit.

A few complaints from the kids wouldn’t bother me, especially since they are outside their comfort zone. But I really wouldn’t put up with excessive moaning and ingratitude if that is happening. I hope they appreciate and enjoy the holiday in general.

I think some of it is the heat. The one domg most of the moaning is autistic. The pools are salt water and not chlorine so he thinks they have scammed us 😅 and he's never going on the pool agakn. 3 min later he's in the pool 🤣.

Its also very loud here mainly men bellowing really loudly.

Its ok but I wouldn't come again. But it is good for what we paid.

Adult ds says its not really a typical holiday resort that brits would go to. He says we are south Spain most people holiday in north Spain. Now sure how true that is .

Where are you? I lived in Southern Spain and it was full of British holidaymakers in nice hotels. Depends what you call Northern Spain, not many Brits go up there to holiday but you could class Northern Spain as the Benidorm area.

WhereHasMyPlanetGone · 13/06/2025 18:35

Southern Spain is very popular with British holiday makers.

Mate, can’t believe you didn’t take my advice and get the toiletries in boots at the airport 😅. Hope the rest of the holiday goes well. Try going to the buffet as soon as it opens, should be less busy

🤣 it wascalk to much of a madness. But if I evet go on holiday again I will just do the liquid ruie thingy I think i understand it now that it's to late 😅

There is a hotel that'next to ours it is part of the same chain. Its exactly the same food etc but it seems slightly more chilled and less busy. So we have been going there for last few days.

I think we are going to try and lay in. In the morning so kids can stay awake for the evening entertainment.

What about having a little nap in the afternoon, could have early lunch, up to room and it's cool and everyone have a little siesta, back to pool for couple of hours then get ready for dinner and entertainment.

When mine were young and we did AI we use to go to room around 4pm, little sleep for everyone then up at around 6pm showers and get ready for dinner etc

You could work the timings around what suits you.

I always find no matter where in the world we travel to, everyone seems to eat at the same times, there's no harm going a bit early or later for food so it's not so busy.

It would be a pity to miss out on the entertainment, you've organised this holiday and if you're stuck in the room it will seem boring.

Is there a kids club ? Would that be any help for you, they usually do fun things and arrange competitions and disco etc. (sorry I forget how old your children are).

Another thing you can do is walk around the area at night, it's really lovely seeing all the other accommodations and bars and restaurants and shops and it's lovely and cool at night

You might want to try it after a day in the sun. Mine wouldn’t at home but after day in the sun and pools, everyone was ready to chill for an hour in the afternoon. I didn’t tell them to sleep, just that we’re having half hour rest before getting ready for evening, most days they would fall asleep or at least lay down for a bit.

Don't know if I'm just a middle age grump 😅 but I definitely would not recommend here. Every morning there are several familys who are shouting up and down the corridors from 6am . Is that normal for a holiday ?

Ah what a shame. All the preparation and excitement that led up to this and you’re having an awful time.

I guess the shouting is normal, the kids are excited for the day ahead

I'm not having an awful time. We are enjoying it. Most of its just me. And just niggles. Like the food thing is me. But it's not like we are not eating. Actually all the bits I have said are niggles.. we are enjoying it though.

I should have just done better research 🙃

Did you have to pay a lot for it? I just worry that you make decisions and then beat yourself up for them.

WasherWoman25 · 14/06/2025 09:51

What you are describing are definitely the down side to AI holidays. The ones that have less of those niggles do seem to be a lot more money. Most holidays have one or two niggles, it’s about making the most of the bits you do enjoy or adjusting your routine to fit. We cruise on a very busy ship so we make sure we are about 30-60 mins ahead of the crowds every day, early breakfast, first off the ship in ports, first then back on the ship (so it’s much quieter) then early dinner etc.
