Names that would be pretty if they weren’t already other things

My daughter and I have been talking about names that would be beautiful if they weren’t already other things (mainly sparked by me saying that MacKenzie wouldn’t be a good name because it is a surname). So far she has suggested Cathedral, Fajita and Café. I have come up with Cellardoor.

What do you think?

Wren. It's a cheap kitchen range, not a girl's name.
Pandora. Don't open the box.
Delilah. Read the Bible story.
Lucifer. It is literally Satan.

Candida

(I actually knew a girl called Candida many years ago. She went by Candy.)

I love Pandora and Delilah, even with the meanings, also add Lilith and Jezebel but these are all already names.

Cherry would be mine, I think it would make a pretty name.

Bonjela and Germoline would be a lovely set of twins.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 17/05/2025 10:05

I always thought Billy Reuben (bilirubin) would be a good name for a character in a children’s book - he’d be the cheeky little lad always getting into scrapes.

TourangaLeila · 17/05/2025 10:09

Colander

Isn't he a nickname/character in Silence of the Lambs?
