Anyone following this ?
It’s disgusting and fascinating at the same time !
I really feel for cassie, heavily pregnant and reliving all that horrible stuff she went through.

I just caught up on the trial live tweets of cassie being questioned by his lawyers.

I don’t know what the jury will make of it. Seems like the defence is playing dirty as apparently they dropped 400 exhibits on the prosecution at 3am, obviously giving them no time to read through it before court.

heidyho · 16/05/2025 01:51

I'm glad Cassie got 20mill out of him in her civil case in 2023.

All that stuff with Usher abuse leading to Bieber abuse Fux sake

For the first time Justin has realised a statement via his reps - he says he was not a victim of Sean’s and does not want to distract from his actual victims. So yes, I would say he is cancelled regardless the outcome.
Justin has also said he was closer to his sons.

Not sure if already mentioned in the case of if relevant at all but when Cassie started dating someone else Diddy blew his car up. I think the person she was seeing at the time was Kid Kudi

Britneyfan · 16/05/2025 11:02

@657904I I am massively sympathetic to Cassie and what has happened to her, however I think modern slavery would be stretching it a bit, don’t think even her lawyers are trying to claim this. She was a successful wealthy celebrity in her own right. Domestic abuse and sexual assault/coercion yes but modern slavery no. I’ve been reading about the case and I understand the charge about trafficking actually relates to the prostitutes Diddy would hire and move across state lines (possibly even from Mexico? Not sure) for his drug-fuelled orgy “freak-off” parties.

The podcast on BBC Sounds is good, especially the American lawyer who explained everything so well. However, the reports from the court this week sound so grim and seedy.

Thanks,

I will listen to this 👍

SlightlyJaded · 16/05/2025 11:34

Yes, the BBC Podcast is great for up to the minute reporting and unpicking the legal aspect of things

The RedHanded podcast is great for background and context. I heart RedHanded anyway, but it really gives you an idea of how long and how far the tentacles of Diddy stretch...

657904I · 16/05/2025 13:52

@Britneyfan you are wrong, the three separate offences are:

  • Racketeering conspiracy
  • Sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion
  • Transportation to engage in prostitution

therefore the sex trafficking relates to cassie and the other female victims. Modern slavery is not a stretch consider sex trafficking IS modern slavery.

the transportation to engage in prostitution is a distinct, separate offence.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 16/05/2025 14:04

Immaterial as I'm not on the jury, but I believe Cassie. It takes a lot to give evidence like that in a court, especially so publicly as it is in the US.

657904I · 16/05/2025 14:16

This is my understanding of the trial’s recent events.

Cassie was questioned directly by the prosecution for 1 hour 30 minutes. Then she has been cross-examined by Diddy’s solicitors.

Yesterday the judge asked Diddy’s legal team how long they estimate they will continue to cross-examine Cassie for. They said it will continue into next week.

The judge was not happy with this, as it was previously agreed/understood between all legal bods involved that Cassie would be free to leave after this week. Bare in mind that after being cross-examined, she may need to be questioned again by the prosecution team (who estimated they will need at least an hour) and then again by the defence, and the prosecution can re-re-direct afterwards.

Yesterday the judge reminded Diddy’s legal team that he can stop the cross examination early and that as the prosecution took 1 hour 30 minutes, they have the same time.

I found this quite interesting because it seems that the judge can see the defence are trying to pressurise Cassie and possibly flaunt the court’s rules. But I wonder if the defence is cut off early, if Duffy would have recourse to request a retrial.

Meredusoleil · 16/05/2025 14:25

Isn't the sex trafficking charge relating to Diddy making Cassie sleep with other people ie pimping her out?

Thank you for this breakdown xx

Following intently ..more out of nosiness than a sense of justice been served. I seriously cannot believe these people and how they justify the mess of lives they lead. I will never understand how so many people surrender so much for fame. Most of them seem damaged to me.

Yes I saw this and thought it was insane.
How did that not come out at the time.😲

Parsley1234 · 16/05/2025 19:54

@AlertEagle i think it did abd she finished with KK its proper low rent shit

657904I · 16/05/2025 23:48

Just read the tweets from the trial (innercitypress account) and it seems to be a mixed bag.

I think the defence had a good day - the reaction on social media seems to be against cassie now.

There was a new witness today and she was cut off…but testified that she saw cassie getting beat and that she understood diddy to be threatening death if the witness didn’t keep quiet

Amazed.

I didn't see it all in full but the gist was he beat her after trying to hit with a skillet they grabbed her by the hair and throat then threatened to kill / have killed the singer who witnessed it.
He said where he comes from "people disappear ..."

Was it the money she received?

Itcantbetrue · 17/05/2025 07:23

What a vile individual, he had the most stunning talented gorgeous girl friend and he seeked to see her degraded and trashed.

Unfortunately I think this is a common fantasy of many men, all the films of men who have made it are filled with naked or barely clad women there soley to please them dancing around pools snorting coke

I heard an incredible woman on lbc once I didn't catch her name but she's part of a charity that goes into schools to get young children around 4 especially boys to be kind.
Encouraging kindness at this age impacts male violence on women later on

One wonders how Diddy mum feels about this? She must have known cassie well. Wouldn't any mum be mortified that they had raised a son who had this gorgeous young gf and yet he can only get pleasure seeing her degraded having sex with others??

Itcantbetrue · 17/05/2025 07:26

I think it's speaks volumes that his children have been allowed to bear witness to all the seedy and sordid details about dad's parties and proclivites at quite young ages. What a sordid world they have created with all that money and privaledge

Edited

I'm sorry to say that his mother may have played a significant role in shaping his behaviour.

We’ve all seen the mothers of boys who can do no wrong who indulge their sons, dismissing their abusive with the 'boys will be boys' mentality. These are the boys who grow up believing their behaviour, no matter how disrespectful or violent, is always indulged.

They are raised in families where their actions towards their sisters, mothers, girls in school are never questioned. When these boys engage in unacceptable behaviour, like touching a girl inappropriately or even physically hurting their much younger sister, it's brushed off as a harmless joke or a normal part of boys growing up.

This kind of unchecked male entitlement and violence unfortunately tends to start early and causes such unnecessary misery for girls and women. So my guess is the mum has his back. They usually do.

Itcantbetrue · 17/05/2025 09:10

@Sienaflorence totally agree although I realised after posting I was putting blame on mum when dad is also to blame but apparently dad was in with some gangster and was shot when Diddy was age 2

But yes I've unfortunately witnessed and seen it with my own eyes ie mum's crumbling in the face of violent sons who they believe can do no wrong

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 17/05/2025 09:49

Entirely possible he's been brought up with criminals protecting him as a debt to his father. He probably then funded them as he became successful. It perpetuates. But the vast majority of normal people would find his behaviour abhorrent and appalling. Women who want to make it in the entertainment industry are very vulnerable unless they meet the right people who really want to nurture them and their talent and who aren't lying shits out to exploit them. It happens to men too, but the industry is still male-dominated meaning women are more likely to be the victims of exploitation.

His children (in court) are aged 18-31.

I’m sure they would have been exposed to some of this behaviour. I’m sure whatever the defence solicitors have been putting across, is the version of events they are familiar with. So they were likely already aware of their dad’s drug use for example or violent outbursts.

Also his sons have both been accused of similar crimes in similar circumstances ie sexual abuse with drugs/violence/escorts with Diddy acting to cover it up.

wisteriadrive · 17/05/2025 16:30

I saw something about how cassie allegedly said he told her some vile fantasies about his twins and their mother ? On YouTube so obviously could be a load of bullshit !
