Anyone following this ?
It’s disgusting and fascinating at the same time !
I really feel for cassie, heavily pregnant and reliving all that horrible stuff she went through.

The fear of speaking out is no different to the fear of, say, a young sales assistant working at Harrods and either being a victim of Al Fayed or witnessing it. The power imbalance is INSANE. And alongside those whispers of what they are doing, will always be whispers about 'what happens to whistle blowers' - fuck, they put it out there themselves. It's in their interests for people to be afraid of speaking up - it's literally how they get away with things for years and years.

The difference between Diddy and say, Weinstein, is that with Weinstein - you'd worry that you would never work in Hollywood again. With Diddy, the threat was to your life. I imagine victims of Al Fayed, Epstein, R Kelly et all, were all conditioned to fear for their lives. And this will have had a ripple effect - people in the inner AND outer circles will have had the same fear. Doesn't matter if you are a celebrity - Beiber, Lopez, whoever. When you see people actually being killed or disappearing, survival is going to kick in and I am not surprised that so many allowed so much. The psychology of some of those who worked for him is not dis-similar to how ordinary people ended up doing the most unspeakable things at the bidding of their Nazi superiors during WW2. Fear will make people do terrible things - including facilitate rape. No excuses, but definitely reasons.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 23/05/2025 10:59

I can understand the fear. But I can understand being someone who was attacked while 'scared' adults whispered

I will be very irritated by all of the stories tbh, especially those behaving in a 'shocked' way

Kanye has denounced his antisemitic ways, I wonder what's coming out about him. It will just be gay rumours, nothing else

Yesterday rapper Kid Cudi testified about Diddy breaking into his home, interfering with his belongings, hurting his dog and setting his car on fire. He presumably was subpoenaed to attend court.

Now online there’s a lot of idiots calling him a “snitch” or a “bitch” for attending court. Those posts are getting a lot of traction/are being made by other notable people in that industry.

I’m so glad that I’m not mixed up in a community where being a “snitch” is seen as worse than the crimes Diddy is on trial for. Like why on earth would Kid Cudi have any sort of loyalty towards someone who placed his life in danger like that?

Hurt his dog what an absolute evil prick

Just bumping this thread as we may get a verdict soon. Jury deliberating this week.

heidyho · 01/07/2025 04:30

I hope the jury reaches the right decision. He seems capable of anything & everything. He has no limits.

657904I · 01/07/2025 21:55

I think he’s going to be found not guilty? Because the jury have unanimous verdicts on counts 2-5, but are hung on count 1.

657904I · 01/07/2025 22:02

Here’s a link

  • Count 1 is racketeering. This is the hung verdict.
  • Counts 2-5 are around sex trafficking & prostitution. They have reached a decision on these.

In my layman mind, if they reached a guilty verdict on 2-5, it should automatically mean that count 1 is guilty. Something around 2 predicate acts being proved in the racketeering, which can be prostitution and sex trafficking.

However they are divided on count 1, unanimous on the rest. So to me, it follows that they have found him not guilty on some if not all of the other counts and therefore don’t agree on 2 predicate acts being proved.

If they can’t agree on the first charge, do their other verdicts still stand or does the whole thing go to a mistrial and start all over again?

onedayatatime73 · 02/07/2025 12:34

Anyone?

If they can’t agree on the first charge, do their other verdicts still stand or does the whole thing go to a mistrial and start all over again?

I'll preface this by saying that I don't know the ins and outs of the US legal system but if I've understood what I've read correctly for a guilty verdict on count 1 (racketeering) the jury would have to agree that he established a criminal enterprise (i.e not just him involved in the coordination) and that he had committed two crimes over a span of several years. The charges the jury have agreed on are sex trafficking and prostitution which should cover the two crimes over several years aspect. So I think people are surmising that the unanimous verdict on those charges must be not guilty otherwise they would agree on the racketeering charge but it could be that the dispute is over the criminal enterprise or some other point of law. Really there's no way to know until the jury decide. It's a public holiday in the US on Friday so could be next week before a verdict is given. I don't know what happens in the US in a hung jury situation. In the UK the judge can order that the agreement of just 10 or 11 jurors is enough for conviction but I don't know if they have similar in the US.

He’s a monster. It terrifies me that he could get off with this!

On the charges of racketeering, and sex trafficking Casandra Ventura and "Jane", he is found not guilty

He is found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution, related to Casandra Ventura and "Jane"

From BBC

Would this be a prison sentence ?

OP posts:
WhyDoesItAlways · 02/07/2025 15:45

The maximum amount of jail time he now faces is 10 years for transportation for prostitution. These are the most minor offences that he's been charged with.

He's been in prison since September- don't know what they call it in the states but would be like being on remand in the UK. His lawyers are asking for him to be released for a $million dollar bond presumably until sentencing takes place.

FloofyBird · 02/07/2025 15:47

Ffs. yet again a powerful man gets away with appalling behaviour.

heidyho · 02/07/2025 15:48

Ugh I'm fuming. I really thought the Government would win. Their evidence was obviously not strong enough.

LadyDanburysHat · 02/07/2025 16:28

I'm actually surprised that he got found guilty on anything. The rich usually get away with everything.

He won't get long enough in jail, for sure.

onedayatatime73 · 02/07/2025 17:31

Those poor women who testified. I’ve been following for weeks and am now sad for them. Cheering outside the court with baby oil is utterly disgusting

Meredusoleil · 02/07/2025 18:27

This is an abomination!

EachandEveryone · 02/07/2025 18:34

Unbelievable. So the hotel cctv did that count for anything or was that another charge?

WhyDoesItAlways · 02/07/2025 19:45

I think the fact he reportedly seemed so gleeful in court despite looking at a possible 10-20 years in prison shows that he's well aware he's had a lucky escape and I would guess got away with things he's actually done.

I haven't followed too closely so I don't know if the hotel footage has been bought up. I haven't heard any mention of any assault charges unless they've been dealt with separately and possibly didn't need a trial if he'd admitted it given the video evidence.

I think the BBC said the maximum he can get for the charges he was found guilty on is 10 years. I somehow doubt her will get the maximum and with time served already by the time he is sentenced, he won't be in prison for much longer probably.
