For me it’s
-Wasps, flies in the house, and bastardy bitey bugs.
Spent yesterday evening in the garden watering the veggies and I got bitten in 6 different places.

The fact that every young women in a 5 mile radius is wearing those short tight gym shirts and cropped tops and I’m jealous of their perky behinds and flat stomachs!
I tried to avoid German hiker and now I’m stuck with batty elderly art teacher. ( I’m not even that elderly!)

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 14/05/2025 10:05

Being at work! Want to be outside in the lovely sun!

dudsville · 14/05/2025 10:07

I normally don't have anything to contribute to these threads; I cover up well and have great clothes for summer. HOWEVER, yesterday there was a terrible RTA in my way home that stopped traffic. We all got off the bus, and I thought no problem, I can walk to the train station a couple of villages over. Blisters! This would never have happened with my winter shoes. I now have trainers and socks on order. Honestly, my feet are so sore!

Oh I have a lot of respect for the "batty elderly art teacher" aesthetic. If only I could achieve it! I'm stuck with "mismatched something-is-off-with-her lady".

MyKingdomForACat · 14/05/2025 10:29

The fact it brings out the neighbours and kids. Soon as one ray of sun hits the ground all the shouting starts. And flies.

JudgeBread · 14/05/2025 10:30

I'm a postie.

Doesn't matter how fit I am, I sweat like a woolly hippo in this weather.

I do love my job, and I love summer, my body sometimes just hates both.

Jasmin71 · 14/05/2025 10:32

The fact that everyone's energy levels run high and there is just some kind of weird tension in the air. People's behaviour changes when it's hot. From giddy children to exasperated adults it all just feels a bit too much. I can't wait for it to lash it down and calm everything down a bit.

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2025 10:33

Hate it all and it’s going to be a hot summer I read today :(
I hope that is fake news

MajorEruption · 14/05/2025 10:34

neighbours strimming hedges and power washing EVERYTHING, all day, every day

Littlemiracles232504 · 14/05/2025 10:34

The washing!!
I LOVE washing and drying on the line, I get so much satisfaction and happiness when I can smell it wafting through the house…BUT… putting it away, urgh fills me with dread

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2025 10:34

I loath summer clothes and shoes.
Much prefer boots , jeans and raincoats
Can cover up!

TabbyM · 14/05/2025 10:41

Seriously looking at those cooling pads as am boiling and peri.

Like: butterflies on the wing, hanging washing out and drying 2 loads in a day
Dislike: people everywhere endlessly power washing and lawn mower-ing (has no one heard of No Mow May??),
nothing to wash away the dog wee / human vomit in the town centre so everything smells

Being at work! Want to be outside in the lovely sun!

I work in a kitchen!
No air conditioning, just a tiny window that they insist on closing
I have to walk to work,so am a sticky mess by the time I get there
It's hell-my eczema flares up I'm too fat,pre menopausal and too old for this weather
If I'm not working,I live in my pyjamas and thankfully our lounge is pretty cool
If I'm out and about,I wear dresses and chubrub shorts-but the don't 'wick away sweat' more 'hold it next to your skin and you end up with sore fanny skin'
Every other room in our house is boiling hot though
I love winter-you can layer up and add/take away if needed
In hot weather your fucked

JojoM1981 · 14/05/2025 10:47

The pressure in having to maintain the gardens and the constant weeding 😒

OssieShowman · 14/05/2025 10:51

How hot is hot?
Asking for a friend Aussie here

Piratejenny99 · 14/05/2025 10:53

My neighbour who plays his shit music constantly for hours as soon as the sun comes out. Nobody else can enjoy their gardens in peace.

skippy67 · 14/05/2025 10:54

People moaning about how "hot" it is.

MajorEruption · 14/05/2025 10:58

It is 18C where I live, would not call it hot though the sun is shining and it is windy

HollyBerryz · 14/05/2025 11:55

TimeForTeaAndToast · 13/05/2025 17:46

People whining when it gets over 22 degrees.

I genuinely struggle!

BustingBaoBun · 14/05/2025 12:09

Worst aspects of hot weather

None.

Apart from people moaning about nice weather when it's such a short time we have it.

Foolsgold74 · 14/05/2025 12:12

Lansonmaid · 14/05/2025 09:45

Norway can get very hot too. Been over there in June and July and been in T-shirt and shorts all the time. Plus in July the midges come out in large squadrons….

Hhmmm, Iceland then.

gezzab33 · 14/05/2025 17:51

I'm never wearing the right things, my ankles look even more industrial than usual, I feel extremely uncomfortable if it's over 22 degrees and I'm knackered all the time. My Irish skin belongs in a bog in the rain and I'm forcing it to go to Morocco. That's how it feels anyway. Everyone looks cool and stylish and I'm like a grunting troll trying not to complain because everyone else loves it. Everyone seems to know how to do summer and I don't.

RandomUsernameHere · 14/05/2025 18:08

Flies, mosquitoes, wasps. Otherwise I absolutely love the heat.

iPreferBooks · 14/05/2025 18:17

I'm pretty sure heat is a big trigger for my migraines Sad

DrSK2 · 14/05/2025 18:37

Stinking people everywhere. Cannot stand.
