I went to the theatre last week sat next to some tourists from San Fran they said the situation there is absolutely chronic. So many people leaving for red states Colorado Texas due to low taxes and less woke.
Re homeless well I would suggest that housing migrants in accommodation is not helping the situation. If all resources are being given to non UK people this is really not going to help and the government seem unable to understand this. Hence the growth of Reform.
The other thread on here Is my town a shit tip ? is very interesting. More seem to be than ever before.
Finally the unprovoked murder of a Colombian pensioner by 3,feral girls is just unbelievable similar to the Asian man in Luton. Sad to say the parents need to be named and shamed forget saying manslaughter it’s murder that’s it.

User450877 · 12/06/2025 18:32

It’s like all of labour’s ideas, it sounds nice but there is no coordinated plan to reduce homelessness there - I believe homelessness is rising in our cities and that this amounts to looking like they’re doing something, at best.

Upstartled · 12/06/2025 18:37

We need more shelters for the homeless, more supported accommodation, better provision for those with addictions and poor mental health, we need to support those coming out of the armed services.

How is it beneficial to tie the hands of the police with regard to homelessness and make it an even more prominent and unregulated feature in our towns and cities? How do we expect the shops and hospitality industry to cope with the fallout when the footfall of customers is properly killed off?

I hope they DO decriminalise homelessness. It would be bad enough to be homeless and cold, without suddenly finding yourself a criminal on top. Some people are just getting nastier and nastier, with their shitty judgement.

Yeah, I'm the bad guy. You can pat yourself on the head about being kind and let someone else pick up the tab for your efforts.

The proof will be in the pudding, if it ends up in more sleeping rough and in tents then that’s due to Labour policy.

ETA if it happens I doubt anyone will welcome it.

Parsley1234 · 12/06/2025 19:03

@marmaladeandpeanutbutter you think that would be better ? Not for all the people trying to make a living around them it wouldn’t. In San Francisco whole foods opened a store downtown it lasted less than a year because the staff were getting mugged on their way to work Fuck that shit ! There should be more support for homeless of course but this is not it

I find it odd anyone would want this.

Upstartled · 12/06/2025 19:25

I suppose at the outset, it's a really cheap way of looking left wing and progressive to distract from Keir's Island of Strangers act, but the fallout could be very expensive indeed.

EasternStandard · 12/06/2025 19:28

It’ll be a visible representation of decline. Sounds like madness for a party to want that in the press and on SM.

TheNuthatch · 12/06/2025 20:15

It will only exacerbate the problem. Nobody wants to see parks full of tents.

Call me a cynic, but Reeves pledged to end the use of hotels for migrants yesterday....

@Parsley1234 you're right! I hadn't heard about it until I read your post. I just read Starmer's tweet. There's an article in the telegraph about it.

@TheNuthatch I think I would lose my shit very quickly imagine having to weasel your way around that lot. I do like Kemi though she’s very articulate and seems determined I know she’s not well liked but I think she’s keeping her powder dry

Parsley1234 · 12/06/2025 22:02

@twistyizzy thinking if you tonight as VAT outcome is tomorrow. Seems a lot of rumpus about it so might be too much to hope it’s unlawful even though they won’t reverse it I doubt. Another thing I really can’t stand is their voices 🤣🤣🤣🤣
on a good note though have any of you seen Little Britain Mr Doggy sketch I have never seen it before and I play it when i need a good laugh

Agree. She has a vision at least and gets you can’t just spend, tax and borrow.

R4 were woeful this morning. Usual pro Labour stuff.

Parsley1234 · 12/06/2025 22:14

@EasternStandard what was on 4 this am ? I didn’t hear it mind you look at this picture talk about painting a 1000 words vindictive basterds

They are bloody vindictive aren’t they.

R4 had a Kemi interview, the interviewer was very Labour. I can see why BBC are losing fee payers these days, too much state PR and bias.

Parsley1234 · 13/06/2025 07:40

Question time was good last night I may of been swayed was Zia Yussef he maybe talking nonsense but he comes across as coherent intelligent with integrity. Atleast he loves Britain unlike Starmer

PlutoCat · 13/06/2025 09:11

@Parsley1234 I hadn't heard about the Colombian pensioner case? Was it recent? I tried to Google, but kept getting a different and awful case of a cleaner who was murdered.

Parsley1234 · 13/06/2025 09:16

@PlutoCat yesterday in the old Bailey let me see what I can find x
