Rayner was asked this morning about ehcps. She refused to rule out scrapping them.

Rayner doesn’t want to be leader, definitely not. As stated.

Amusing as it is to see Starmer scrabble and Labour infighting Rayner’s actual policies would be dire.

'Rayner doesn't want to be leader'.
😂😂😂😂
That's hilarious!

Apparently it was ‘I never want to be Labour leader’ to Sky

😬

EasternStandard · 25/05/2025 12:12

Basically watch out Starmer 😬

Funny if she wouldn’t bring in such woeful policies

Well some may believe her, I do not.
Agree on policies too. I dread to think what she would do with an already fragile economy.
If Labour did put her in No10, it would be electoral suicide imo.

Yes I think so. And likely loads of damage too.

Agreed.
Let's hope Rayner and Starmer/Reeves brief against each other enough to destroy each other. Streeting would be the best of a bad bunch.

Some seem to go a bit doolally over Rayner on mn. However her policies would be woeful.

Briefing against each other won’t help Labour, fine if that’s what they want.

After a GE maybe Rayner and Streeting will go for it. I can guess who’s more electable.

Sorry not sorry to derail if Rayner got into no 10 what would it look like 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Can you imagine. There’s a few who think she’s the answer on here.

Luckily I don’t think it’s a popular view outside mn.

Apparently, Rayner is in the same league as Nye Bevan. 😂
Err no, she really isn't.

Oh right, best left to that I think 😬

Boohoo76 · 25/05/2025 13:51

Rayner wants to reinstate to the WFA in full and reduce the child benefit threshold back down to £50k. That tells us how fucking useless she would be. A single pensioner with income of £50k per annum (with likely no mortgage, no childcare costs and no commuting costs) would get the WFA but a single parent supporting a family on £50k (who is likely to have a mortgage, childcare costs and commuting costs) wouldn’t get child benefit. Plus the parent will have a higher food bill, higher utility costs, children to cloth etc. Absolutely ridiculous.

EasternStandard · 25/05/2025 14:00

We have higher taxes and borrowing with Labour already. The idea of higher still won’t help. Madness in fact.

And it is interesting how some will attack other non Labour female politicians so easily.

Barbadossunset · 25/05/2025 17:17

I agree that Johnson's kids and Carrie should be off limits. But as I said I haven't seen any threads slagging them off.

@PlutoCat there is a thread running right now saying how Carrie isn’t good looking, she spends her life going on holiday - she doesn’t care about her carbon footprint - she’s only having so many children to compete with the Rees Mogs, the baby may have autism because Boris is an older father and every possible criticism of Boris’s personality, looks etc.
Nothing is off limits on that thread.

I spotted that thread after I posted (if it is the one I am thinking of). Some of it really is not nice.

Some of the comments are really vile. I always thought commenting negatively on other women’s looks was not acceptable on mumsnet but not in this case.
It seems the further right the politician is in inverse ratio to the insults. (So reducto ad absurdum, that would make Stalin and Chairman Mao perfect poppets)

Yep. The same posters do the opposite to politicians on the left.

Yes, you're right. Great post.

I had to scrape the very back of my brain to understand your last paragraph. 😂😂
Love it, thank you for stretching my latin on a Monday morning.

Thank you Nuthatch!
I’m always surprised at the tolerance shown to left wing mass murderers. On communist marches in London there are banners featuring Stalin - imagine if anyone marched around with Hitler banners.

Stalin banners? WTF
I didn't realise there were communist marches in London.
