I'm actually really sad about those bricks. 😥
(Written whilst having a coffee, enjoying the view of my very busy bird feeding station).

I absolutely love my bird stations until the rats decided to eat my pond liner resulting in a climate emergency to clear the pond of the poor fish I haven’t fed the birds since as the rats were being encouraged to eat the bird food hoping I can resume my bird life soon

Oh no what a nightmare! That sounds horrendous Parsley. The poor fish! That would put me off for life.
I only feed seed that doesn't create any mess on the ground, and I have a device that stops rats from climbing up and reaching the feeders. So far (12 years ish), no rats. 🤞

I feed sunflower hearts (no shell), and I use these on my poles.

Just appalling. I have no words.

First pensioners.

Then private schools

Then PIP

Then assisted dying to get rid of granny and the sick and other people "non-productive" through no fault of their own.
This is how the Nazis started. I never thought I'd see it from a Labour government

Now Rayner wants to cut CB for Middle Class families and put up taxes

The latest wheeze is that retirement age is to be raised to 70.

So we all have to work until we drop dead to pay for the hoards of scroungers we have?

Yes them, and the unions! Disabled people + SEN kids should do without so that the unions get what they want

Unbelievable. There’s a petition up to 60k in the petition section. I’ve signed. I know it doesn’t always do much but this is so bad.

Not sure what’s going on with the two child benefit cap. Everyone seems to be rushing to spend money we don’t have. Well maybe not everyone yet.

I believe the correct word would be floundering Eastern.
Farage is due to give a speech this week promising to reverse the cap, and also reinstate WFA in full.
Labour have delayed the child poverty strategy, and Starmer suspended a group of his own MPs for voting for the reversal of the 2 child cap.

In other news Carrie Johnson has welcomed a new baby. The left of MN has decided that it's fair game to discuss the sex lives of politicians, and slag off their wives and children. Would they apply those rules to Starmer? Or his wife and children? I think not.

OP posts:
PlutoCat · 25/05/2025 09:12

I haven't seen anyone slag off Carrie or Johnson's kids? There have just been discussions about Johnson's, er, profligation.🤢

Starmer has been married to the same woman for years and has had no children by anyone else that anyone knows of, so not much to gossip about there.

My point is that if the wives/husbands and children are off limits, that should apply across the board, not just to politicians we like.

If I started a thread to discuss the rumours about Starmer's personal life, or the rumours about one of his children, there would be a very different response on MN.

I agree that Johnson's kids and Carrie should be off limits. But as I said I haven't seen any threads slagging them off?

There were news articles about the latest baby, though, and the Johsons themselves put up posts on social media, so I think it is fair enough to discuss that?

@TheNuthatch I was coming on to relay that article above, the Labour government according to a charity for the disabled said the labour party are launching an attack on disabled people across all ages and places.

I cannot stress enough how important ehcps are.
Unfortunately the problem is not enough teachers understand Sen to make the carrying out of Sen adjustment's work in school. That's the problem, nothing else in terms of meeting needs.so much more could be done if only teachers and all staff really had this knowledge.

Our education system does need an overhaul unfortunately I lost faith that the current incumbent would be able to do it because of the nonsense she has spouted on here and on TV.

The union's are very against teachers getting knowledge of Sen because they can't diagnose.( No one asked them too).

What a strange cross hair for our most vulnerable to be caught in.

Itcantbetrue · 25/05/2025 09:45

There is a very good solicitor called Michael Charles who represents such children and has been banging the drum about this for ages, trying to bring underhand law changes to our attention. He has a good Facebook page.

It won't happen without a fight I can tell you this will cause outrage across the board literally
.

Thanks for your insight. It's shocking. Combined with what's happing to SEN kids at independent schools too! They really are punishing the vulnerable of all ages.

It is shocking and very sad.
Some parents have been through the mill in already extremely challenging circumstances.

Parsley1234 · 25/05/2025 11:05

I can’t believe the SEN situation re mainstream getting rid of indie schools that cost the tax payer nothing and putting all kids in together one size fits all - not. I don’t think Starmer would be getting anyone with child ahem that’s not the way his wind blows
