@PlutoCat i am the biggest fag hag ever so your assumption is quite funny if it wasn’t so stereotypical yourself. My preferred demographic to hang out with are gays so wind your neck in. My observation of the tragic PM of this country is one that is shared far and wide what I do think is tragic is that if he is with lord ali just come out and stop deceiving the country and if he’s using tent boys what a twat

Fag hag!

I haven't heard that term since the 80s when I used to go to the Black Cap and the Vauxhall Tavern and Bolts (where I once saw the late great Divine perform).

You just brought back some very happy memories. 🤗

PlutoCat · 22/05/2025 10:12

Sorry, I should add that I apologise for misinterpreting your posts @parsley1234 . I do find them rather grating, but am glad to be wrong about their intent.

Net migration estimated to have halved from 860K at the end of 2023, to 431K in December 2024.

Well done James Cleverly. It's working 👏 😛

I can’t imagine who will try to take credit for that ;

Luckily the media will point out why and when it happened

TheNuthatch · 22/05/2025 10:40

Figures also helped by an 11% rise in people leaving the UK.
I wonder why people are emigrating in such large numbers 🤔

Parsley1234 · 22/05/2025 14:09

11% rise oh my god ! And they will be high skilled not low skilled. Very depressing

True.

Chagos back on. Fantastic we get to spend billions we don’t have after all. I’m sure people will be happy.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 22/05/2025 15:39

Well, looking at the numbers, it’s not that immigration has fallen all that much, it’s just that emigration has risen.

Not that much of a kept promise.

TheNuthatch · 22/05/2025 16:20

More ONS figures:

This year up to March, there has been a 17% increase in the number of people claiming asylum compared to the same period last year.

I am fuming about the British Indian Ocean Territories. We have betrayed both the Chagosians (who are part of our family of nations) and we have relinquished control of the world’s largest marine reserve protecting unique ecosystems, not to mention the only deep water port in the Indian ocean capable of docking a submarine. I struggle to understand how this was done without any proper consultations or votes. Giving away sovereign territory to a country that treated the Chagosians so poorly that they needed rescuing beggars belief.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 22/05/2025 16:55

So it seems that we are losing net tax payers and are gaining asylum seekers and dependents.

Parsley1234 · 22/05/2025 16:58

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat thats about the length of it

TheNuthatch · 22/05/2025 17:04

Meanwhile, Farage is sunning himself on holiday. He doesn't have to lift a finger.

I didn't know about the marine reserve, thank you, I'll read up on that.
You should share this info on the Chagos thread too.

Exactly. Starmer is destroying himself + Labour without any help from Reform.

Now unfunded teacher payrises and schools should just cut their cloth. Exactly what she told independent schools about the impact of VAT.

Labour and especially BP are purposely destroying education in this country. Oh but hey she's bringing in a GCSE in Ukrainian FFS 🙄

Wow I think that's the highest number for crossings in one day. If Starmer doesn't want Reform to win at the next GE he needs to get a grip on this with all the extra money being given to France not to mention the salaries of the extra UK staff he's employed to sort this out.

Coming up for 11 months and crossing numbers are higher than ever.

Liker · 22/05/2025 18:54

Maybe there is a method in Labour's madness after all as they plan to let out dangerous offenders from prison. Let them out, poor lambs, they've been punished enough. And let's not forget they want to abolish shorter prison sentences for thieves, street thugs, burglars - don't bung them in prison, poor lambs, strap a tag on their leg and let them repent at home.

This week Starmer has just tied Britain once again to the world's worst performing trading bloc, tying us to their laws and regulations with little say. Today Chagos.

The way they are going, folk will be back on the streets rioting this summer and hey presto they will have the prison space to give long sentences to the dissenters.

Have we found one of Starmer's skills: thinking ahead?

Yep, shocking isn't it.
Another change is that the most common nationality now is Eritrean.

I've just read that the unions are balloting for strike action.
When are we getting those 6500 new teachers then?

@2dogsandabudgie I just checked and highest crossing in one day was over a thousand, so not quite that high yesterday.

Just reading about this there’s no way schools can cover a gap.

And Chagos costs are shockingly high. What a mistake.
