Daily fruit and veg thread

Does anyone remember a thread from Spring /Summer 2018 where we all counted how many types of fruit and veg we ate each day? Portion size irrelevant, we were just trying to be intentional about eating more variety. I can't find it but thought maybe some posters would like to do it again. I definitely need to eat more and it was a really encouraging and positive thread. I still make the bean and mint salad that someone kindly shared at the time.

I'll start with yesterday:
Onion
Garlic
Kale
Beetroot
Carrot
Blueberries
Sweet potatoes
Chia seeds
Flax seeds
(I think we included nuts, seeds and legumes too)

Hello, do you mind if I join your plant quest? I’ve been reading along and realizing I need to up my intake. I used to be so much more varied but have dropped off precipitously over the past few years. I figure I might as well start somewhere and keep making progress. So today I had:

4 pumpkin seed Ryvita
blueberries
ground flaxseed
chia seeds
whole roasted almonds
tomatoes
crunchy natural peanut butter
banana
pea shoot and mixed greens salad (1 cup)
Portobello mushroom
strawberries
melon

So, 12 types of plants but in terms of actual servings by volume/weight, probably 7. My lunch was completely devoid of vegetables. I’ll remedy that tomorrow.

JingsMahBucket · 27/05/2025 21:57

Oh I just remembered I also had the last chunks of a deliciously seedy, moist and oaty low sugar flapjack. My OH’s friend baked them. I asked him to get the recipe from her. It is that good.
