Daily fruit and veg thread

Does anyone remember a thread from Spring /Summer 2018 where we all counted how many types of fruit and veg we ate each day? Portion size irrelevant, we were just trying to be intentional about eating more variety. I can't find it but thought maybe some posters would like to do it again. I definitely need to eat more and it was a really encouraging and positive thread. I still make the bean and mint salad that someone kindly shared at the time.

I'll start with yesterday:
Onion
Garlic
Kale
Beetroot
Carrot
Blueberries
Sweet potatoes
Chia seeds
Flax seeds
(I think we included nuts, seeds and legumes too)

I don’t see the point in this thread but,
I had 3 apples, lunch was an egg pita with a handful of salad leaves, and fennel and parsnip soup for dinner

Can’t believe today was 19! Not all in great quantities- the salad was a mixture of those leaves for example. A good way to bump up your total is to add lots of different veg to a salad then add herbs and seeds. I’ve just made a salad for lunch tomorrow:
feta and beetroot
mint leaves
rocket
watercress
spimach leaves
avocado
cherry toms - mixture of colours
red grapes
sprinkle of pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
I will eat an apple after so that will be 11 just at lunch. I don’t eat breakfast.

Great idea to add seeds also to the salad. Sometimes I chop walnuts into mine. This thread is making me think of veg and ideas that I had out of the habit of and kind of forgotten about! Must buy more variety.
Just about ok here today
Blueberries
Flaxseed
Chia seeds
Chilli with three pulses, tomatoes, carrots and red peppers
Avocado
Almonds
Yellow peppers

Just remembered I have frozen edamame beans so I’ve added a sprinkle to my salad. They’ll defrost by lunchtime.

Just making dinner. It’s a white fish curry:
coconut
tomato
greens
garlic
onion
cauliflower
broccoli
red chilli
ginger

Will have some berries later with yoghurt so lunch was 12 and this evening is 11 so 23 today.

Forgot I had a carrot and a celery stick with humous as a snack! Blimey that’s 25!!! This is enlightening. Have always eaten lots of veg and fruit but never detailed it like this. Maybe this is too much??

Mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach with breakfast.

Banana, walnuts and flaxseeds with lunch.

Lentils, sweet potato, carrots, celery, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, onion and broccoli with dinner.

Apple and Brazil nuts as snacks.

Definitely not too much. What was lunch? This is why this thread was great last time, you see how other people get it in. I notice already my fruit and veg is repeated. I actually remember my trolley full of different types last time.

Lunch was a feta and beetroot salad with lots of leaves, salad veg, grapes, mint and edamame beans plus an apple.

Fruit n fibre cereal for breakfast, probably doesn't count as anything
Banana for lunch
Onions and potatoes with dinner
So 3 really.
Shopping tomorrow so will improve hopefully!

Maybe keep some frozen berries / mango in the freezer to either add to your breakfast or to heat and have with yoghurt after sinner

B - banana before the gym
overnight weetabix with chia seeds and raspberries
s - carrot, celery and cucumber with hummus
l - a random concoction including quinoa, green beans, asparagus, pepper, courgette, aubergine, red onion, new potatoes and tomatoes with lemon juice and parsley
s - apple
d - same as last night: peas, sweetcorn, cucumber, lambs lettuce, garlic & ginger purée, and nigella seeds
