Tbf to the guy, given the childhood and early adult years he’s had, we’d all be fucked up

But surely William had the same issues to deal with in his early years - losing his mother, lack of privacy etc..

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 02/05/2025 18:13

Oh agree and you could say Harry’s scapegoat persona received equal but different trauma to William’s golden child persona. However, how two children in any family won’t be carbon copies. Plenty of MN threads where eg one child has cut off their parents and think they had an awful childhood but their sibling would have the opposite experience and view

HonoriaBulstrode · 02/05/2025 18:23

Harry’s scapegoat persona....

When was Harry a scapegoat? If anything he was over-indulged.

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 02/05/2025 18:28

As shorthand for the silver child, the spare, the runt.

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 02/05/2025 18:29

Add on constant press James Hewitt was his dad, all the drugs/cheating at exams scandals. None of that ever came out about William - did anything bad come out about William from childhood to graduation? I don’t remember it

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2025 18:30

I just wish he’d go away and live his life with his children and his wife and nobody should give him any more oxygen or their time.
He won’t though .. ;(

The right decision.

He has the money to pay down his own security.

Horrible little twerp.

I expect he was manipulated by she who must be obeyed to set him up as looking bad so that when she divorces him it's just another nail in his coffin of the public disliking him.

He wanted to pay for it but for his security staff to have access to intelligence briefings etc.

The court in an earlier hearing said he was either entitled to security and the state pays or not entitled and he doesn’t get it at all.

There’s no halfway house of ‘he gets security but has to pay for it’ which is what he wanted in the first place.

So yes, he can pay for security but the British Government have said he’s not allowed to.

CandidHedgehog · 02/05/2025 18:34

CatsWhiskerz · 02/05/2025 14:24

... ok just heard that the permission would need to be from the very court who just told him no 🤡

They regularly give permission - I believe the test they apply is ‘is this a point of general public importance’ not ‘do I think I’m right’ (which they obviously do or they would have made a different decision).

CandidHedgehog · 02/05/2025 18:36

ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself · 02/05/2025 14:33

I’ve not really followed this too closely, but he lives in a country where owning, keeping at home, and (in some places) walking around the supermarket with a gun in your shorts is legal, so how come he feels in danger here?

Because his armed and highly trained security can’t carry guns in the UK due to UK firearms laws.

If he is a terrorist target (no idea if he is or not), shouting ‘don’t shoot’ is unlikely to be successful. In the US and most countries he travels to, his security can use lethal force.

Toootss · 02/05/2025 18:44

He needs to stop making it public -what the hell does that achieve. Just quietly contact his DBro and meet up in Braemar for hols.

QuiteUnbelievable · 02/05/2025 19:08

Andrew is not quietly living in exile. He's always always trying to get back in and is always being told f, no.
He's also reportedly, allegedly refusing to move from a massive house he lives in for a peppercorn rent.
Harry did not ask to be born royal and security is an issue.
Whether you like him or not he doesn't deserve to be hurt or his family purely from the situation he found himself BORN into.

Of course he doesn’t deserve to be hurt. Which is why it’s good he has UK security provided and paid for.

Lots of us have had terrible, traumatic childhoods, we’ve just had to get on with it with no counselling etc. He can’t blame his childhood experiences for everything.

He wanted private security to have access to police intelligence. That can't be bought. He also tried the angle of hiring the police. Again, that can't be bought.

He's perfectly allowed to have private security and to pay for it. They just won't access to police intelligence and the like. However, that isn't good enough in his eyes.

Harry losing the case means that he will never feel safe and comfortable when it comes to travelling to the UK with his little family.

Well done Britain, you' ve managed to throw out a Prince of the Realm and his family( never seen or heard anything like this from their European counterparts).

Harry can go back to living his peaceful life in California knowing that he did all he could to be able to bring his kids safely to this country.

Now you can focus on the left behinds( including the alleged p@@@e who by the way still has security and lives in a royal residence without anyone bathing an eye)

Maybe now he'll shut up and go cry elsewhere 😂

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 02/05/2025 20:00

Hes a very damaged individual just like his mother was! Manipulative and entitled. He was always a spoilt brat but the palace PR machine kept it mainly covered when he was a working royal! What we are now seeing is the real Harry because he has no one to hide behind! While im not a fan of Megan and i believe she is also an entitled troublemaker his behaviour is not of her making because hes always been this way ( i have relatives who work for the RF at one of their main homes).

Ha Ha

That's a very ...erm...'interesting' perspective about a man who chose to leave the Royal Family; who did so without talking to them about it first; who aired all the dirty linen in public, not once, but several times - including an interview on Oprah and publishing a book airing all his grievances; who actually can still have security and could still stay in royal residences if he were man enough to talk to his family in private.
Of course he can bring his dc to this country.

Exactly this. I think he should just go away and focus on his wife and kids.

He has burned his bridges and behaved poorly in my opinion. Rather than keep going on with these cringeworthy interviews and outbursts he should just go be happy with his new family.

I wish them no harm, I hope they are happy but please do shut up and enjoy your non royal
life in America now.

sprigatito · 02/05/2025 20:16

From the perspective of someone who doesn’t give a dry fuck about any of the royals…the sheer visceral, gleeful hatred towards this man is unnerving. From the OP and others. Why? Confused It’s not normal to hate someone you don’t know this deeply. Frankly if this is how a bunch of ordinary women who’ve never met him feel…I can see why he doesn’t want to bring his children here without armed guards. It’s bonkers, and very unpleasant.

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 02/05/2025 20:17

Amen, @sprigatito

autumntimebrowns · 02/05/2025 20:56

@sprigatito. But he can come to the uk, by himself or with his family and he will be provided with the security detail that RAVEC considers to be appropriate. His just needs to give due notice. As we don’t have top class security on a retainer just for him this is how it has to be. Many of the headlines, as Harry himself is giving false information. He hasn’t not got security here. He just needs to give a heads up.

QuiteUnbelievable · 02/05/2025 21:10

@HornyHornersPinkyWinky great name 😜 although brings up horrific memories of,"exploding"

William had a very different handling from the get go and Diana was concerned about it

He chose to leave, no one forced him, he can visit anytime he wants to, he just needs to give them notice so they can arrange security, he's managed to come here several times safely, he could come back to live in the UK if he misses his family so much, it's always someone else's fault. I admire him for taking on the phone hacking but his constant moaning about his family has worn thin.

Indeed so. The venom is terrifying .... no wonder he is concerned for his safety.
