We are a giant beautiful store, I run the store, and everyone wants to shop here. I own the store. I set the prices.
I set the prices?
The US has centralised pricing set by the US government? In the land of the free and commercial enterprise?
Um... isn't that the sort of communistic government overreach which has supposedly been anathema to the US of A for my entire lifetime?
I do understand he wasn't claiming to be specifying an exact price for each product, but his broader meaning is correct in that his government is attempting to set prices for goods en masse. It's definitely the sort of behaviour that normally has Republicans squawking about the horrors of big government.
