Best summary I’ve seen so far @TulipTiptoer 😂

Branster · 25/04/2025 13:22

😂 @TulipTiptoer I love it! That's a brilliant summary. I'd give you a job as a news reporter any day, very clear explanation and so fitting.

Just finished reading it - good summary @TulipTiptoer!
What a narcissistic tool he is. Aides must explain things to him with analogies (eg the department store) and he gets them stuck in his bigly brain.

I think they tried to keep from challenging him otherwise he probably would have walked. He was already saying the questions were nasty and that he could see right through their approach.

I guess the interview with The Atlantic will have gone the same way. Anyone know when that will be published?

The funniest bit was when he said... you wouldn't be giving Biden this sort of interview, he'd be under the table and he wouldn't do an interview with you because he was grossly incompetent.
The interviewer said... actually we did interview him. You can read the interview if you like
Fat Orange then says yes, and he was awful at that interview. He didn't do well.
🤣🤣🤣

China has told the US to stop creating confusion with Trump’s lies that negotiations are ongoing regarding America-China tariffs. There are no negotiations.

The fact China holds all the credibility in this tussle is beyond belief.

We are a giant beautiful store, I run the store, and everyone wants to shop here. I own the store. I set the prices.

I set the prices?

The US has centralised pricing set by the US government? In the land of the free and commercial enterprise?

Um... isn't that the sort of communistic government overreach which has supposedly been anathema to the US of A for my entire lifetime?

I do understand he wasn't claiming to be specifying an exact price for each product, but his broader meaning is correct in that his government is attempting to set prices for goods en masse. It's definitely the sort of behaviour that normally has Republicans squawking about the horrors of big government.

What does it matter ?

You don't think the drooling masses that put Trump where he is are going to waste a single microsecond on processing what he is saying ?

Of course they aren't.

All they crave is the sounds he makes when he opens his mouth. Presumably in a reassuring ASMR fashion.

You won't ever convert a MAGAnaut with logic, or facts. Mainly because they don't want to be converted.

Well, exactly. Especially given that they are all tooled up with their weapons in case of nasty big bad government tyranny

This is chilling. The media will treat it like it's a joke (as per) but it's morsels of drugged meat being fed to the MAGA faithful, insidiously prepping them to support this.

Made me want to throw up.

Overton window. Talk about it now, seeps into the public debate.

logicisall · 25/04/2025 16:07

The last 24 hours in the US. 😱
The country is spiralling. Everytime you think it can't get worse, it does. I'm really sorry for non MAGAts.

Thing is even if he did what the FBI claim, it’s akin to arresting the people hiding Jews during WW2. We are literally back to a point where decent people will soon be hiding their neighbours, friends, gardeners and carers in the loft. It’s grim as fuck.

TulipTiptoer · 25/04/2025 16:15

Yes, it just makes you wonder, what the actual F is going to happen next?

On another note... will Trump and Melania cope with not being the centre of attention tomorrow at Pope Francis's funeral. He really is not a big fish given the occasion. Also, he's not good at sitting through funerals, he always looks bored rigid, and apparently this will be a loooooong one

AcrossthePond55 · 25/04/2025 16:51

Just came to post about the judge being arrested. Fuck!

I think we're starting to shift from things being scary to things being terrifying

How is it feeling in the US? It’s hard to know how much of it is UK media hyperbole.

Although we’re so far into the abyss that this hasn’t even made the UK news according the Sky or BBC!

Oh that’s helpful thanks! I was reading on CNN but it’s scary how things that are previously unthinkable now don’t even break the top 10 news stories.

It just flashed up as breaking news on the BBC as I was typing. They are always a bit behind.

Without saying too much, we live in an agricultural area. Tentative plans have been made.
