I know! I mean can you imagine the chaos if folk still had all of their rights and other awful things like that.

Remember the Tory promise of chaos if Labour were elected in 2015 ? After which they proceeded to give a masterclass in how to descend into farce.

If Kara Swisher is right, it's all eventually being fed into his AI database. Presumably so he can monetise selling yourself back to you once the singularity has been reached and we're all hooked up to neuralink. Or something.

But you know, the black lady had a weird laugh.

I'm waiting for the first lawsuit on unlawful usage if that's the case.

Sure, but who's going to enforce anything? They're already struggling with that unseen consequence of the founders not having planned ahead.

And, in the general (intentional) chaos, no one really knows what's happening with any of it, who has access or where it's going/how it's being used. The only thing I think we know for sure is that the usual safeguards are gone and it's going to be pretty hard, or impossible, to get this horse back in the barn.

Non-white people freely roaming the streets, assumed innocent until proven otherwise. A one way road to hell!

After me posting about Bill Maher last week and some of you going "Bill Maher 🤬😤😠🗯️!!!"

I wondered if anyone had seen this from Larry David? Posted in Daily Beast:-

Yes! Enjoyed that.

On another note, I now find Larry David and Bernie Sanders almost completely indistinguishable 🤔

Surely surely surely Hegseth cannot stay on? It's indescribable.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/23/pete-hegseth-pentagon-espionage

As more develops about the US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, and his repeated disclosures of sensitive military intelligence in unsecured Signal group chats, there are growing concerns his behavior has weakened the Pentagon in the eyes of its foreign adversaries and made him and his entourage a top espionage target.

And there's far more... the situation is said to be perilous

Fears grow that Signal leaks make Pete Hegseth top espionage target

Experts say Pentagon chief has endangered secrets of US defense department and given assistance to foreign spies

You'd think so, but since they've essentially gotten rid of all national security, intelligence and oversight and Trump spills anything and everything to his dictator pals, do they care?

JoshLymanSwagger · 23/04/2025 15:44

Who is the old duffer speaking at the IMF thing in DC?
He's said IMS at least a couple of times.
Maybe he can replace Leon?

Also, why are Tesla share "rebounding" now they know they're getting their Skum back? 🤯 Republicans will "drill baby drill" so they won't buy one and Dems wouldn't touch that guilded and beglittered turd with a very long barge pole.

Goldman Sachs shareholders voted today to reject two anti-DEI proposals, both by 98-2 percent. GS Board urged shareholders to vote to reject proposals. "We believe that diversity, including diversity of thought, experience and perspectives, is important to our commercial success."

This is fantastic! Between this and the unis it feels like the establishment is pushing back at least a bit.

logicisall · 23/04/2025 16:45

Tesla is more than just cars.

"Tesla’s innovations go far beyond just cars, with groundbreaking advancements in energy storage, solar power, battery production, neuroscience, and telecommunications. From the Powerwall and Solar Roof to the Gigafactory, Neuralink, and Starlink, Tesla is leading the way in sustainable technology and shaping the future of innovation."

CaveMum · 23/04/2025 16:47

I can’t remember who said it, but one of my many pods in the last few days said Trump won’t get rid of Hegseth until it affects HIM personally. He couldn’t care less about National security, the risks of unsecure chat apps, etc. Right now the “Libs” are running around with their heads on fire and he thinks it is great. Only when his own (Fox, et al) start turning on him will he take action.

Tesla will be welcoming the return of his razor sharp brain to their boardroom.

I was born in '69 and I might feel 76, today, but I absolutely am not! 😂

Good. I've a good chunk of my savings in there so very happyto hear it.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 23/04/2025 17:43

Yep he has fully crossed the Rubicon. Autistic people to be registered and tracked 'in real time' as a means of combating this plague which is destroying families across America. Black triangles anyone?

Trumpism isn't working. The more it doesn't work, the more likely the pushback from powerful institutions.

Wallaw · 23/04/2025 17:51

MrTiddlesTheCat · 23/04/2025 17:43

That is absolutely sickening.

Funnily enough, when Fitbit was sold to google, I posted a thread on MN asking if anyone else was a bit wary about Google now owning/having access to all their data and the opportunities for consolidation and was basically laughed at.

JoshLymanSwagger · 23/04/2025 17:52

Occasionally I wind up DH by insisting the moon landings were filmed on a sound stage in Hollywood...😉

Hey, they could do it with clockwork in the 60s, but they can't do it now...🤷‍♀️

Except the MAGA based are quite willing to believe - and act in that belief - that it's someone elses fault their saviour is being thwarted.

I can't think of any individual or organisation that would be safe from such an attack.

Serpentstooth · 23/04/2025 18:05

Well, muck a duck. I'm queuing up for moral guidance from Goldman Sachs 😖😨😭 things fall apart. The centre has vanished.
