How many Easter eggs do you buy DC?

OtherCoraline · 11/04/2025 16:50

Just bought my Easter eggs for DC. They each have:

1x medium size smartie egg
1x medium size creme egg
2x small size eggs (one mini egg, one milky bar)
1x smartie bunny

And a packet of mini creme eggs to hunt around for.

I know that if you add the sugar value up, it’s a lot, obviously will be spread out etc but I can’t help but feel that it’s not lots? I definitely got more as a child and they won’t get any from anyone else. It’s just we have a holiday next week so I’m just trying to save money for that.

One egg or big bunny etc and then an Easter outfit (not themed, just ready for the time of year), just because that's what I had each year as a child and I've carried on the tradition.

1 medium egg each.
And mini ones for a hunt in the garden.
They'll be happy with that.

Same here!

Anjo2011 · 11/04/2025 17:10

Two each, one from us and one from my DF

One small-ish one each, cost about £2 each. They've got a medium one from an auntie, they'll get another from their grandfather. They got £10 each from their other GPs. One DC still has leftover Halloween and Christmas chocolate /sweets so no point buying more.

ohnowwhatcanitbe · 11/04/2025 17:11

When dd was small, we got her one big one, and some little ones to find in the garden, plus a bag of mini eggs to make chocolate rice crispie nest cakes with.

Trumpsgoneloco · 11/04/2025 17:12

Err, one egg with a choc bar & then some mini ones for a hunt

GoatCatTaco · 11/04/2025 17:13

One each on Easter Sunday.
And I have to buy my Dad one, as otherwise he doesn't get any.

We have been eating mini eggs for a few weeks tho - well DS1 and I have. They aren't great with braces or lactose intolerance, so DS2 and DH are abstaining!

Trumpsgoneloco · 11/04/2025 17:15

But worried I don't have enough now

How many Easter eggs do you buy DC?
Needspaceforlego · 11/04/2025 17:16

1 medium.
They'll get one from Granny, one from Auntie and a pack of mini eggs from other Granny.

Tons of big eggs is pointless.
Actually I think there are still a couple of Snowmen in the fridge from Christmas.

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 11/04/2025 17:16

1 big egg each and a present, but my youngest is 16. Presents are trainers for 2 DS, Dress and Jacket for DD and DM's for other DD
They will also get egg from 1 set of grandparents, and maybe something from their dad.

Trumpsgoneloco · 11/04/2025 17:16

Are Easter presents a thing now?

Cabbagefamily · 11/04/2025 17:16

One medium egg each. That’s it. None from other family members.

I'm not that young and Easter from one Granny was 3 creme eggs & a pack of pants or socks depending on her mood!

redpaperstar · 11/04/2025 17:19

One medium egg. Plus a few mini ones from an egg hunt.

They don’t get loads from family either as we don’t live near them so they don’t get given them.

I got around 10 as a child!

MaryGreenhill · 11/04/2025 17:19

One big one

Trumpsgoneloco · 11/04/2025 17:22

@Needspaceforlego never heard of anything non choc related

Jessica5678 · 11/04/2025 17:23

None. They get big eggs from grandparents and aunts and uncles already. They do not need any more, especially as they don’t even particularly like them. One of them still has Christmas chocolate left!

nokidshere · 11/04/2025 17:23

1 each. When they were small we did a small egg hunt in the garden. Now they are adults I still send them one each (and 1 each for flatmates lol)

AnneElliott · 11/04/2025 17:24

DS only got 1 from us as he got loads from other people. And the grannies buy a present instead of an egg.

Sofiewoo · 11/04/2025 17:24

Are Easter presents a thing now?

I always got presents in the 90s. A basket with eggs and a few trinkets, an outfit for Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and a toy or something.

Fuckthecamelyourodeinon · 11/04/2025 17:27

None but my kids are older than 10 so not necessary any more.

flutterby1 · 11/04/2025 17:28

ONE each mid-range

Toastandbutterand · 11/04/2025 17:28

One.

But mine are adults, when they were small, they'd get one and a pack of 3 kinder eggs with a £5 note taped to it.
They used to get far more Easter eggs from neighbours/friends/family than they did Christmas presents but I think that's cos you can pick up an egg for £1 so people go a bit nuts.

DeciDela · 11/04/2025 17:30

One big one, and some mini eggs to hunt
They often get small ones from grandparents and two aunts.

DeffoNeedANameChange · 11/04/2025 17:31

I have the same rule of thumb at Xmas and Easter (and Halloween)- I never give my kids more than I'm happy for them to eat all in one go. If it needs to be spread over several days it's too much.

Mine each get one smallish egg. That's it 🤷‍♀️
