One of my friends has broken up with his partner and is now looking to be rehoused he had a meeting with our Labour MP who said there are 7 million empty bedrooms in the uk and their next campaign will be to get these in use 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️he did point out these were private residence and not for general use

Bonkers.

One might find rather a lot of bedrooms being converted to anything other (than a bedroom….)

Come to think of if, you might see a lot of relationships ‘break down’ so that partners require two bedrooms. They already call it a ‘sleep divorce’, I believe.

I would not put anything past these socialists. Garden, larger than a postage stamp? Higher tax liability etc.

Blimey, the labour fans on here are so intolerant of different views aren't they?!
I hope labour get their arse handed to them tomorrow, they deserve it. I wish I could vote.

Probably the intolerant ones are those who haven't been negatively impacted by Labour's appalling antics and general mismanagement - yet.

The ones who have my sympathy are the lower income pensioners who weren't profligate during their working lives, but just didn't earn enough to build a decent private pension. They're the ones who've probably voted Labour all their lives and saw no reason not to vote this lot in, especially with all their pre-election promises about looking after "working people".

I can't imagine how they must have felt when the very first thing Reeves did once in power was rob them of a fairly hefty chunk of their already low income.

I know how frustrating it can be so here’s a pic of Reeves in a marketing campaign.

It’s quite sad and I feel for the staff, but she still probably doesn’t get it.

@DancingFerretthey’ll get to everyone in the end, strikes likely next.

Brilliant! Well done Beales 👏

@DancingFerret agreed. What they did to pensioners will be their legacy imo. It's the disabled I feel most sorry for. Most of them will have voted for Labour, genuinely believing that it was in their best interest to do so.

Well done Beales but bloody hell what a terrible thing those poor employees mind you my friend has been made redundant last week 48 workforce 38 going. Other friend son qualified as a building surveyor first job made redundant going to Australia

I read that as a dig at Reeves - everything must go, including her.

(Does anyone know which Beales this is?)

SpringerSprockerCocker · 30/04/2025 15:54

Beales went into administration in 2020 and the Poole one was the last branch standing. Much as I am not a fan of Reeves, she can't be blamed for the company's demise.

Reeves deserves everything she gets. Although I would argue that it should be Starmer on that poster. Truss takes the shit for her budget, so Starmer should be in the cross hairs for this one.

She was in opposition in 2020 when the company hit the skids. Why let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Tell that to the ex employees in Poole.

It's brutal in the jobs market atm. Eastern and I have been posting about the merits of Australia today on another thread. I bet your friend's son will love it out there 😁.

Yes but the demise started long before that.

MyNameIsX · 30/04/2025 19:08

Beales should consider going online with cardboard cut-outs of Reeves for sale (more personality and competence).

Those firms entering insolvency could then simply erect a ‘Rachel’, with a phone number etc.

Good luck to your DS. I have loads of family in Oz, but I've never been. None of them want to return to the UK, it looks brilliant.

Edited to add: My son lives in Europe. I miss him loads, but he's thriving. I'm so glad he went.

Does she pay for anything herself? Theatre tickets this time.

Reeves really is a shameless POW.

Unfuckingbelievable.

Zero self-awareness.

Glad your son got to Europe despite Brexit. Is he working or studying? Much more difficult now post-Brexit. Travesty that Erasmus is no longer.

I don't want to give details as its extremely outing. He moved there after brexit, and the process was really simple. He's in a field that's very 'in demand'. He has no plans to return to the UK to live.
