Also being reported by the Torygraph

presumably under the headline ‘doomed to failure”?

That said how can any business plan for the future with the tease of tariffs hanging over them?

4 more years of volatile, weird & highly emotional “leadership” is going to hold back business.

PandoraSox · 11/04/2025 09:06

Oh, that won't fit with the MN Rachel from Accounts narrative.

DuncinToffee · 11/04/2025 09:09

Reeves has crashed the economy how many times now? Wasn't she supposed to be out by the end of January?

With the 🍊madness, it's good to have some positve news even if it comes with a 'but'

I'm quite enjoying how she is "crashing" the economy. It's quite different from how Truss crashed it, isn't it?

… and The Times

Not going to look at any more RW press!

Edited

Lets see if it is on the front pages of the printed press tomo shall we?

Hidden behind pay walls doesn't count... & the Mail on Line & the SUN lead with.. guess what? not a mention at all....

If you think Labour don't have an issue getting their message across to the media in general, well, thats your prerogative but one i don't agree with.

If these figures had been poor, the RW press would have ALL been over it like a rash.

Equally, when the UK recorded similar growth last spring, we never heard the end of it...

I very much do think that they have an issue. So this good news has probably slipped out somehow!

Given how many people read the news online these days, I think it’s a bit of a poor argument to suggest that we’ll have to wait to see this story in print.

DuncinToffee · 11/04/2025 09:39

The papers were printed before the growth was announced

Current BBC news front page🙄

No - it’s there.

Yes it is there but fourth story down if you click on the screenshot. Raiding vape and barber shops obviously more important. Wouldn't be the case if the economy had shrunk, I bet.

BIWI · 11/04/2025 10:12

On my laptop it’s on the top line of stories, on the right-hand side.

Not really sure why there’s a determination to say that this story isn’t being reported Hmm

PandoraSox · 11/04/2025 10:22

I didn't say it wasn't being reported?Hmm

I just posted a shot of the BBC front page as it appears on my phone, where the vape and barber shop story is the headline followed by two Trump related stories.

As I said it would definitely be the BBC head line if the economy had gone the other way!

I said its not getting the prominence it deserves or would have got had this been a Tory Govt.

BBC on-line is Vapes, tattoos, golf course vandalism... oh look "UK growth under business section...."

Lets see what is in the printed 'papers later/tomo shall we?

BIWI · 11/04/2025 10:27

I AM reading the BBC site online! And it’s on the front, news page.

DuncinToffee · 11/04/2025 10:30

Hundreds of people seeking asylum are to be removed from nine hotels across England within weeks

Asylum seekers moved out of the hotels are expected to be placed in longer term temporary housing, mostly flats or shared houses, managed by the Home Office.

Yes it is but not the headline story....

But we are going around in circles here...

I'm not entirely sure why you re so keen to portray the media as unbiased but i'll leave you to it.

That’s very kind of her to put it on hold 🙄

Who writes this crap?!

BIWI · 11/04/2025 11:38

FFS @Alexandra2001 I’m not trying to portray the media as unbiased! I’m refuting the statements made on this thread about a good news story not getting out.

It’s a GB News headline. I’ve just watched their headline roundup. I don’t suppose anyone on here watches though 🤣🤣
