We managed to sort our holiday. We are now going to Spain instead. It looks much more fun . And the times are better to. We were not overly worried about tunisa in the end. But it just felt negative with all the communication difficulties. And it really stressed me out. I won't book a holiday on my own again 😭. Anyway put it down to experience. Everyone is happy now and looking forward to our first holiday abroad.

I'm just sorting cases or bags now. We are looking at the ones that go under the seat. As we want to avoid check in. I was looking at soft ones . But now I'm wondering if hard shell would be better so it doesn't bulge?

We are away for 5 nights so I'm wondering about the 2 youngest. I'm thinking maybe 7 pairs of shorts. 7 t shirts obviously underwear/socks and a pair of summer type shoes. Wear trousers / top and zipped hoodie, for travel. They will probably want their tablets, plug and a colouring book /pens .

I ordered theses. I saw a video of them and they seem good 👍

They're not luggage, they are packing cubes to go inside suitcases.

i can travel for 2 weeks with only a tiny luggage but I take washing soap!

Where are you planning on putting passports/boarding passes/phones etc.

ive travelled substantial with children on all airlines and on my own. If you aren’t used to airports security is going to be a nightmare with children/bags especially as Ryanair use lower costs airports/terminals which still have the old scanning equipment you need to take stuff out the bags.

I found onboard luggage an utter faff last time. I had a cabin case and a backpack. Then I had to get two trays at sr purity. My case went away and people kept pushing their trays in before I could get my second one onto the conveyor. I was juggling it all. Then I had to lug it all around everywhere I went. In summer my case wi be checked and I’ll have a small backpack with medication, magazine, snacks etc.will only need to remove my kindle and any liquids (I very my spare lenses etc) and all the sunscreen etc will be away in the hold.

They're a nightmare at airport security!

I travel with special assistance and I still find airport security highly stressful, especially on the way back with possible language delays.

That is a worry

You might want to check out what assistance is available at the Spanish airport in advance. Often the uk airline ground staff are local so you may need to insist on the booked arrangements and use the luggage gauges to demonstrate yours will fit as underseat. They will usually speak English though.

I don't need to buy goggles my kids have never ever used them

But they might want to try if other kids are wearing them and having fun in a big pool ! A Dutch doctor told me never to share goggles for fear of infection.

You oh have to pay for this option. If you do not and just book a flight you are only allowed backpack size which is the smaller mentioned measurement.

please don’t let this ruin your trip pay for 1 big suitcase to check in and you can then still all take a backpack each. I tried last year and my 8 year old couldn’t carry hers and I ended up taking both it was a nightmare. You can fit loads in them but they are heavy

I know my children. They have never ever had or wanted googles even if they did (they won't) im sure they would fit somewhere.

On the ryan air it says the free carry on underseat is 40cm/25cm/20cm .

I know i have to pay if I wanted the next size up /the over head cabin one . But if I did do that i would do one.

I have also saud several times if i can't make the clothes etc fit in small underseat case . Then I will get a bigger case.

Remember if you get put by the emergency exit of the plane you won't have the under seat space (but will have more legroom).
