I've often thought that the only really speaking Russian helps, barely anybody from the rest of the world can have a good proper conversation with him, or at least he hides behind it and likes it that way anyway.

Well now they can. And white people who don't want to be offended by non-whites, or men who don't want to be offended by women, or Christians who don't want to be offended by jews can do the same, so all good. Totally worth it so the 15 trans people trying to participate in women's sports stay home.

There we go, got a quick answer to my earlier question (about why people still support Trump, despite his regressive, oppressive, regime).

My response was probably too irritated and off the cuff, but I'm perplexed by the number of women who seem able to overlook the tsunami rolling back of the rights (including the ability to control or own actual bodies) of everyone except white men for what they perceive as this gain. The number of women who will suffer under this administration so vastly outnumber the number of women who will ever be affected by a trans person. I just don't get it.

It wasn’t too irritated at all, it’s absolutely infuriating. The numbers of trans women is minuscule and the numbers within that causing any harm to biological women is even tinier. Next to that a massive majority of America’s population risk living in absolute tyranny and fear. I’m glad you pointed it out!

Totally agree. Excluding sports, there are very few of us who are affected by trans people in everyday life.
The only trans person I know runs a computer repair shop and I've been there a few times, they are great, great style of clothes! and they repaired my terminal laptop after a link on MN sent fireworks and trojan attacks onto it.

I am more concerned about all womens rights. Trump has repealed an EO from 1965 in his fight to exclude anything to do with diversity and equality. Appalling.

This dismantling of all people’s rights seems like the end of the world to me (I’m sorry, I know that is hyperbolic, but it’s the way it feels to this 69 year old woman who figuratively burned her bra in the Seventies). Every time I read a new headline from the USA, I despair. I should go back to my original ostrich-like position, but it’s like picking at a scab, once you start, it’s difficult to stop.

It’s difficult to support women’s rights when there is no clear definition of what a woman is. My rights as a woman to safety, privacy and dignity are compromised by extending the definition of woman to any man who claims to be a woman. This is not negated by some trans people being perfectly nice.

If only the Democrats hadn’t signed up to this reality-denying guff, we might not be in such a difficult situation right now.
