Help, I am so bunged up I want to cry (TMI)

Weight loss jab. They do warn you can get a bit constipated. I’ve not really been since Friday.

I’m so, so bunged up I’ve just had to try and manually evacuate (hell, but if I didn’t I was going to tear I think) and I’m going to have to nip to the late chemist for something. Enema, f**k knows... I’ve taken two senna but pack says they’ll take eight hours.

It’s so painful, and embarrassing, it’s unreal. I even thought in my misery of going to urgent care but what can they do?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated, I’ve even given myself a headache trying!

3 tsp of epsom salts in warm water should sort you out. Make sure you are near a loo as soon as you take it.

LaPalmaLlama · 24/02/2025 17:49

Glycerin suppositories. Or just wait for the Senna to take effect. It almost certainly will so long as you drink enough water.

Dulcolease. Although I guarantee it will work, but I'm warning you it doesn't take long!

seriouslybungedup · 24/02/2025 17:54

I will go to Asda armed with this thread haha. I’m mortified. I don’t think that’s a story I will ever tell anyone in real life!!

Castor oil.

That'll clear your ummm sinuses 😬

Be near the loo.

Sonolanona · 24/02/2025 17:57

Glycerine suppositories or micralax mini enemas... both available OTC.
Insert, lie on your left side with a hot drink to sip, and usually work within 20 mins.

Good luck. If you are chosing epsom salts (and I have tried ducoease and senna and they are painful for me..epsom salts cause no pain but are a bit drastic) then make sure you don't get the lavender bath ones like I did. Not so pleasant drinking them rather than bathing in them.....

Marmiteenthusiast · 24/02/2025 17:59

Dulcolax.

Be warned OP, be near your loo. The results were so - for want of a better word - violent, I think I actually started praying.

Good luck OP. A good chemist will be sympathetic and will help advise you x

Suppositories. Just waiting for lift home now!

Another vote for glycerin suppositories. Keep it in for as long as you can.

Hopefully clear the OP's food baby!!😂

Sorry OP, not trying to be insensitive in the slightest, this kind of thing is awful and I really feel for you. You mustn't be embarrassed, we've all been there.

Yes same here hope you're OK op!

Random one but you got any pickles / gherkins? A straight shot of the juice works!!! I've done it before x

AlexandrinaH · 24/02/2025 18:33

It’s only been 2/3 days at the most. There was someone on here recently that hadn’t gone for three weeks. She was sent away from urgent care/A&E so I don’t think they’d see you OP 😂.

Just get some laxatives and you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Have a go at this, I thought it was bunkum but I tried it today and it really works!!!! I feel so clean and empty😄

P.S. When your suppositories start to kick in, make sure you have some Sudocrem for your poor sore bum!

seriouslybungedup · 24/02/2025 18:38

Oh God this has made me laugh 😆 thank you! It’s in … now we pray! Sadly I don’t have any pickle juice but I do have prunes…

OP posts:
PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 24/02/2025 18:41

If I drink a lot it seems to have that effect, so if it doesn’t work I’d say half a bottle of wine and 2 G&T’s might just do it…

😂

CarBootQueef · 24/02/2025 18:42

Once you have this episode cleared out get some prunes/dates in and have a couple a day or Dulcoease if you've not been for a day or so to keep you kind of regular as it's less brutal on the stomach then Dulcolax. Also make sure you are drinking a lot.

I'm on week 3 now and pretty much have it sorted now.

Dolambslikemintsauce · 24/02/2025 18:44

Couple of coffees with dairy works me fine...

TheChosenTwo · 24/02/2025 18:50

I usually go 2-3 days without having a clear out, it’s my normal and always has been.
But on MJ I had a few spells of it being 4-5 days and it was making me feel heavy and uncomfortable. Plus quite farty!
Anyway I just make sure I stay really hydrated and ensure I walk a lot to keep my body moving and it does eventually shift.
Not really into remedies myself so haven’t ever tried any of the things mentioned above.
I have found though that if I drink pineapple or apple juice at a hotel breakfast things start moving pretty quickly…
Whatever happens, don’t feel embarrassed- I think almost everyone on the planet has experienced a bit of constipation in the course of their lifetime. And good luck!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 24/02/2025 18:51

Get the prunes down you op and settle in! We're all rooting for you. Incidentally I actually think prunes taste lovely 😂

kumamon · 24/02/2025 18:53

Glycerin suppositories saved me when I was in a very similar predicament a few months ago. Hold on as long as you can - an hour worked for me.

also recommend fybogel for day to day maintenance.

hope you feel much better soon.
