Hilda, that sounds very stressful. You said it's a shared area, but is it on your property or hers or neither? I'm having a garden issue as well. The Rhododendron in front of my house seem to have died. I suspect it was from the two months of drought we had last fall. They don't tolerate drought well. Now I have to decide what to replace them with. I'm thinking about planing some boxwood shrubs. Fortunately, we have a landscaper who can dig out the Rhododendrons. They're quite large.

Dinner is prepped!
Meatballs in a sauce I made myself...which I have to say 🤷‍♂️🥳.. tastes amazing !!

Interestingly pudding !

Cherry crumble with some leftover /needed to use up Bailey's/Irish liquor equivalent!

Can't believe I am having to "use" up Bailey's instead of drinking it it ...but hey ...I suppose sensible old age comes to us all 🥳😂😂!

bizzey · 14/03/2025 16:56

Worried it might curdle actually??

HildaTablet · 14/03/2025 18:49

@MissConductUS yes, it's complicated because the area actually belongs to neither of us but we’re the ones who see it. The owners of the area aren’t that bothered and their property is oriented in another direction (it’s very hard to explain so let’s just leave it at that!).

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/03/2025 19:01

Hilda, so it's not an allotment, but a sort of neglected bit adjacent to yours? Pretty please with sugar on top post a AIBU about it! Start with: I've NC'd as this could be outing.... please, please, please!!!! 😁😁😁🤞🤞🤞

Bizzey, are you making a sort of creme Anglaise with the Bailey's? Congrats on your pasta sauce! 👏😛

Got both dc to school today. Baby is now napping. Fairly nice day here with just a bit of cloud and a temp of 7c. I'm having 2 fried eggs in croissant and a latte for lunch.

I agree! And they'll definitely need a diagram!

Oh, I love it when diagrams are attached. Must use crayon!!!!

eta: same with parking issues!!!!

HildaTablet · 14/03/2025 21:15

Ha, it would be incredibly outing and I haven’t even given nearly all the details! It would just be too impossible, unfortunately 😆

Lost20211 · 15/03/2025 00:24

I finally shaved my legs.

Sorry Havoc 😳 😂 😂

bizzey · 15/03/2025 13:25

@Mumtobabyhavoc ...no Creme Anglaise is custard ...I cheated big time with that and just open a tin of Ambrosia !! 😂😂..

I put the Bailey's in with the cherries.

I am not normally a pudding person ...but I had a bowle and it was really nice !!

bizzey · 15/03/2025 13:27

I don't think I had a bowle 🤔🤔😄😄😂😂🤷‍♂️....

I am sure I ate it out of a bowl !! 😂

Ahsheeit · 15/03/2025 19:52

Hey all, happy Saturday. 😊. You've all been busy! Today I've been for a long wander around the shops with my best friend. Also went to McDonald's for a vegan meal. Vaguely edible.

Biggest thing is I've cleaned out my herbs and spices cupboard, I've hoovered the whole house and cleaned the bathroom. I'm now knackered, but in a good way. 🙂 It's also the first day that my pelvis and femur have decided to go back to where they're supposed to be and I'm pain-free, so woohoo! Hypermobility can be a b.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/03/2025 20:22

Ahsheeit, I'm also hypermobile. Glad you are feeling better! McD's is kinda 🤢 to me, yet when last pregnant I couldn't get enough of the McChicken with a Coke. 🤷‍♀️
I do hit the drive-through on and off for fries without salt as a treat for Havoc. The benefit of ordering without salt is they are freshly made for you. The best fast-food fries are at Costco, though, hands down.
Myrtle, you are a book nook dervish, aren't you. I stand in awe. 👏😊
@wearyauldwumman have missed you here, but happy to find you on other threads
Hilda, Miss. I think I've solved your problem. See attached.

Will write a bit more in another post.

Also managed to get it together enough to get both dc to school yesterday and then sledding in the afternoon.
I did, however, forget the sled 🤦‍♀️😡 so had to turn around after driving about 15 mins giving me a bit of the rage; causing me to berate myself a bit for taking on too much; muttering to myself ffs in exasperation and slamming the door after retrieving said sled. I may have startled the neighbours. 🤷‍♀️
All was well once we got there as by that time the last school groups were leaving (thank GOD for small miracles!) and we had the hill to ourselves save one lovely parent w small child on another run.
Also celebrated Havoc's half birthday, so it really was a nice day. Stopped in for a cake to take home from a bakery I keep meaning to try, Oh Sweet Day.

Pics are looking west over Vancouver.

And pics of the cake and cake shop.
The cake was very good. Luckily, they had a few to choose from and asked if I wanted anything written on it (I did). I had envisioned just being able to buy slices or minis as it was a spontaneous stop.

Wow what amazing cakes!! I have zoomed in and concluded I will have the raspberry chocolate tartlet please. Or failing that the milk chocolate cheesecake one. Thank you

ShoesOnFirstThenCar · 15/03/2025 20:54

Just realised it says mint chocolate, scratch that, not a fan of mint. I will stick with the raspberry one

Check their site. They are very creative!
I might go for the lemon yuzu tart next time. I tried yuzu in the Phillippines and loved it! 😋😋😋

Delicious cakes there - yum!

We had a stormy night last night. I went out to the deck just as the wind was starting to rattle the windows to make sure nothing from my potting bench could be blown away, and a twig got blown into my hair in the dark. The neighbours probably thought I had been attacked.

Saw the news. Tornado alley was very active. 😬

HildaTablet · 15/03/2025 21:22

Havoc OMG, do NOT show that picture to my neighbour 😂😂😂

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/03/2025 21:27

Did they not know it's a long way to Tipperary?

mathanxiety · 15/03/2025 21:32

Havoc yes indeed. We really only got a small taste of it, though the thunderstorms were loud.

I managed to remember my password so I'm back on the app.
