What sagas do you enjoy on MN?

Do you enjoy a bridezilla drama, cheeky fuckers bumming free lifts? MIL thinks she's the mum of new baby not grandmum, what about the my mum treats my (infertile) sister's dog better than she treats my human child threads. Or how about the ones where a poster takes care of someone's else's kid and feeds them McD's, the mum then throws a hissy because her kid should have been fed quail eggs and smoked salmon!

I personally enjoy the car parking wars, especially when there's a diagram.

I like the ones that give insight into the minds of jealous people be it partners friends parents or the OP.

Yeoldlondoncheese · 16/02/2025 16:44

My husband came home drunk & pissed in my wardrobe - should I leave him? Then later on OP informs us she how abusive is he. Yes!!! you should leave him!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 16/02/2025 16:48

A good man bashing thread 😄🤭

Ones about random topics that you just need help with but can't Google

sunshinemango · 16/02/2025 17:01

My DH & I have been married 2457 years and he's never ever done anything for Valentine's day, even when we first started dating.

AIBU for hoping for some flowers or even a card this year??

Nessastats · 16/02/2025 17:08

I like ones where people say what they have or haven't got for eg Christmas/mother's day/valentine's. Not for any reason, i just love seeing into other people's lives on those kinds of occasions.

iamnotalemon · 16/02/2025 17:10

I like the financial and relationship ones mainly.

I know there are good relationships out there but often they make me grateful I'm single and don't have to put up with this crap.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/02/2025 17:12

Finances. It's the sort of thing you never discuss in real life but here people lay it allllllll out. Obviously with some BS thrown in.

CulturalNomad · 16/02/2025 17:13

The Christmas martyr threads are entertaining. "I spend months picking out the perfect most thoughtful gifts for the 2539000 people on my list; I am absolutely brilliant at it. All I get in return are gifts that I don't like. I'm going to cry for the next six months (then I'll start Christmas shopping again)".

They can never be convinced that (a) they should stop doing this or (b) everyone they give a gift to isn't thrilled with it.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 16/02/2025 17:14

Parking!! I enjoy the finance/family drama threads but nothing beats a good parking one.

Oh god the Christmas ones. It's madness to me how people go so OTT and let's face it, probably still paying it off.

Kissedbyfire1 · 16/02/2025 17:19

CFs are my favourite. Also relationship ones where the answer is blatantly obvious to 500 people but not the OP.

HollyBerryz · 16/02/2025 17:23

The ones where someone is being a CF and the OP stands up to them.

Oh yes. That reminds me, I need to go see if the football car got towed

MananaMananaPenelope · 16/02/2025 17:25

Nothing that’s too long 😂. I delete most threads from my watch list after a couple of days.

CallieApricot · 16/02/2025 17:26

I'm fummin. My ds was told off by the teacher. All he did was kick her.

GoodVibesHere · 16/02/2025 17:27

I quite like the ones where someone has done something really, really embarassing at work and can't face going in the next day and wants to run away forever. They're feeling awful but then a bunch of kind mumsnetters join the thread to recount their own mortifying moments in life.

CulturalNomad · 16/02/2025 17:29

So much angst and hurt feelings but complete refusal to tone it down a bit because "it's magical"🙄

theboffinsarecoming · 16/02/2025 17:29

I quite liked the one with the OP who moved into a new home that came with an allotment, only to find that a neighbour had usurped the allotment and was refusing to give it back.🌱🍅🐌

Friartruckster · 16/02/2025 17:30

These threads. Where Mumsnetters take the piss out of themselves.

Ohhh I'd forgotten about that one!

GoodVibesHere · 16/02/2025 17:31

Oh I'm also fond of the 'how often should I wash my bedding?' type ones which pop up every couple of weeks, where people are astonished at each others washing and housework routines.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 16/02/2025 17:32

CFs getting their come uppance which crosses over very nicely with parking threads where the problem parker gets blocked in for a week. Also relationships where yet another ghastly man is being dumped. Oh and cute dogs.I'm always here for cute dogs.

Oh goodness yes! I think they did want to turn that one into a musical theatrical saga if I remember correctly.

kindlyensure · 16/02/2025 17:35

I don't really 'enjoy' any of those sagas because they are mostly made-up bollocks. But I do give kudos to those people brave enough to post their Rightmove links in the property section. People can be mean af, but mostly the OPs seem to take the criticism on the chin, so I say props to all those house sellers.

jenhoney2 · 16/02/2025 17:35

I liked the one where things kept moving in the Ops house and she was sure she either had a ghost or someone was getting in during the day while she was out.

So many suggestions of what it could be.

Spoiler: it was a creepy neighbour.
