Yes, @Blossomtoes, I was about to say, judging by some MAGA reactions I saw yesterday, Trump has made a faux pas (that means a mistake, for the monolingual President) that he may find it hard to remedy (well, a woman can dream).

KC is a good egg really. When DH’s uncle died 2 years ago KC wrote a lovely letter to his widow - DH’s uncle was an architect who worked on some of KC’s pet projects.

OK, I'll be brutally honest (a) I wasn't really a member* and (b) I I were I wouldn't cancel based on this.

However, total and utter respect for the King here. I'd happily delay my push for republicanism* if it goes towards peace. Maybe for my grandchildren rather than my children.

The trick is to make him believe the worst possible revenge he could inflict on Zelensky is to make Zelensky look like an idiot and go full into Ukraine and fuck Putin over.

Won't happen as Putin will have made sure there are plenty of Kremlin minders around Trump (Vance for one). But it's indicative of the level of game being played.

Starmer and the King have read Trump rather well I think

Trump will either pretend he wasn't aware of Zelenskyy meeting Charles and/or bluster about not sure if he will now have time to visit the UK with all his other commitments playing golf.

Oh God. We have to transit via Houston next month. 2 long layovers so I've told DH we're taking cereal bars and drinking water from refillable bottles rather than giving US businesses our cash unless Trump does an about turn. Not going to have any effect on the US GDP but any food would stick in my craw.

It actually made me tear up. Starmer made a point of walking down to meet him which is very unusual. This image says a thousand times more than a cheap Tweet would have done.

Same. I’m no fan of Starmer for a multitude of reasons, but he’s playing a blinder here and this could be the making of him/his premiership.

I think in this instance the fact he’s a bit boring and grey is of benefit because he comes across as incredibly statesman like.
