This is what I took from it, I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of this war but I know it's been very damaging to Palestinians and it seemed like something positive was happening with the ceasefire, now trump saying this looks like it'll set it all back !

It’s means Trump is a brainless bully who thinks Netanyahu should be able to do whatever he wants and doesn’t understand or care about international law.

Trump says a lot of things. Mostly for the consumption of the US voter.

Trump's son in law was talking about development plans for Gaza weeks ago, long before big daddy spoke up. It means Trump will busily justify clearing yet more Palestinians out of the ruins. For their own good, of course.

It’s crazy that Trump believes it’s for him to dictate terms. What do the Palestinian people get in return? Diplomacy takes time. He can’t just wade in and make threats like that. He risks completely derailing the fragile ceasefire.

Israel is holding Palestinians with no legal basis, too. Should they not be released?

Here's a radical idea.

Hamas release all the hostages and bodies that they have this weekend. They put out a statement saying, ' As a sign of our commitment to no longer attacking our neighbors at every turn, we release these hostages back to their families. We promise to sincerely engage with peace talks and if necessary relinquish power to another Palestinian authority when one is found and voted for. We do this as we believe the most important thing is that our people get to stay on their land and have hope for the future. Allah Akbar'.

After they are tried and if they are found innocent then yes of course they should be released. They weren't hostages tho. So it's not the same.

Totally agree. All settlers should leave the West Bank. What has been happening there is atrocious. I believe it should be one of the first concessions made by Israel in any negotiations.

The Israeli Government will never agree. Netanyahu is not in the business of making “concessions”.

Though personally I don’t see giving back what you have taken by force as a concession.

Above all else, those poor hostages are innocent people whose lives, and families' lives, are being destroyed by events outside their control.

That said, Hamas is talking about not releasing them because Israel is not keeping to the terms of the ceasefire on their side. The hostages are the collateral they hold in negotiating. How true that is I am in no position at all to judge, barring a suspicion that Trump's speech around resettlement has done nothing whatsoever to keep this ceasefire going. So we circle back round to Trump again.

I just can’t get my head around this point of view. Hamas will not be annihilated. Tens, possibly hundreds, of thousands of innocent civilians will.

Making it far easier for Trump to sweep in and develop his latest real estate project.

It is irrelevant whether Trump and Netanyahu care about the hostages. They are innocent people who should be released immediately.
