Flight radar - storm Eowyn version

As the title says - I am in the red zone and still some flights attempting and some managing to land. Just watched one diverted from Glasgow to MAN. One manage to land at Edinburgh whilst one right behind it looks to be diverted- another flight from Italy due to land in Edinburgh in 2 mins but can't yet find the plane. Wild that these are still scheduled and some still not cancelled throughout the highest forecast winds of the day. Must be very scary being on these planes! My house in Edinburgh already sounds like the roof is about to be lifted off!

Blimey have they bumped ryanair again to make way for boston?

Lurleene · 24/01/2025 11:39

I'm waiting to fly home from Lisbon and have just seen a planeload of passengers who just went through the gate come back through. I believe they were headed for Manchester.

Unnamedkitten · 24/01/2025 11:40

I stumbled across this thread and am now invested in Ryanair. Would hate to be on that plane!

@Chersfrozenface yes it headed out towards cologne then turned and went back to Stansted

Ohhh - phew. That would have been so crap for them.

Apparently Ryanair is going around AGAIN now because there was trouble on board with a passenger out of their seat. Everybody must hate them now.

Do the bigger planes have more chance of making it down maybe?

Theres another ryanair shortly about to attempt Shannon

wonderingisthisokay · 24/01/2025 11:43

I was wondering that too. Maybe the extra weight etc.

mitogoshigg · 24/01/2025 11:43

What I did notice was a few gulfstreams heading from Switzerland, that conference of rich folk must be over, couldn't they share a plane!

Curious as to how you'd know that?

Looks like they've given up completely with Ireland now and are coming back to the UK.

liveforsummer · 24/01/2025 11:46

@wonderingisthisokay on the other hand I'm not surprised the passengers are feeling on edge by now 🙈

Yes that doesn't look like a holding loop

Yes I noticed that earlier on. Loads of them - all heading back to the states by the looks of it. And folk on mumsnet get guilted for getting on full passenger planes lol

Davos ends today.

I imagine many of those who have given their spiel and done their schmoozing are already in their jets, indeed.

liveforsummer · 24/01/2025 11:49

Ooh live filming. Housework definitely put on hold now lol

I know - same! I'm supposed to be writing this morning, but I'm justifying watching flightradar by chatting to my Dad at the same time, which is a public service, so...

@liveforsummer

Exactly! I'm not irresponsible when it comes to climate change, I reduce reuse recycle etc but I'm not giving up flying in economy until those private jets are grounded Grin

I've been watching that too - if it ever gets to land, it'll be live here:

But with that, I think I need to close my plan tabs and actually do some writing. The discovery that I can watch a plan on flightradar AND live from an airport is just too dangerous for me.

Those Condor have some bright colours on them. There are three over North Sea with destinations on US East Coast.

None of the YouTube links work for me.

Madrid to Dublin Ryanair goes around.
