Things are slightly getting muddied. And I was upset by the story.

I appreciate my previous comment did state the police are less likely to be investigating white paedophiles. The honest truth is I have real idea what the police get up to these days in anything, so that's an unfair comment.

The main thrust of my argument was that last week we couldn't moved for Kemi "facts only get in the way" Badenoch and her camp followers spraying all sorts of insinuations around the "ethnicity" of grooming gangs. And just using the word "ethnicity" immediately translates into one "ethnicity" - and it ain't white. Which is such a wilful distortion of the facts that I think it's fair to question if there is any other motive behind it. Because intentional or not, pointing and "muslims" (i.e. "brown people") can only server to remove attention from anyone else.

And as we have recently discovered, if Nigel Farage is really worried about sex offenders, he could do worse that look closer to home.

It's hard to discount the possibility that was the aim, either. Remember the "Kiers beer" tactic being deployed to try to disguise the industrial scale lawbreaking of the Boris Johnson government ?

Why though? Police are investigating reports of sexual assault all the time and most of the perpetrators are white. I like to think that grooming gangs are still rare but it can take a long time to gather evidence and arrest everyone involved.

The only time I think there is a cover up is if powerful people are involved, ie Epstein and what went on at his island.

No need to delve any further than our churches for examples of those, unfortunately.

Why? Because public opinion is being fed the false narrative that grooming gangs are Muslim, brown and foreign. This will put pressure on the police to focus their efforts where right wing press and politicians think they should go. Resources are stretched. Other things will be allowed to slide because they can't do it all.

There have absolutely been cover ups of white paedophile gangs and lone paedophiles. The Catholic Church, public schools, media figures. Not going to get into the conspiracy theories regarding JS but lots of influential people knew.

My friend doesn't use the term 2 tier Keir in front of me any more. I told her that if she dislikes Starmer and his policies that's her right but I'm not going to put up with hearing racist terms. She didn't really understand what it meant or how it can be perceived. ETA I really do think as she's a retired police inspector she ought to understand what it means!

I have to say that as a mother of 2 DS’ growing up in this world right now I am far more concerned about them becoming groomed into Incel type thinking than anything else. Thankfully they have shown no signs of any of that yet. It helps that they have sisters and friends and a social life.
