What do you have with those filled fresh pasta

You know the things I mean, they're in the fresh section and they come in an array of flavours. I always see them but don't really know how I'd serve it. Please give me your ideas. Today I saw goats cheese and carmalised onion ones in Tesco.... but no idea what to serve with it.

Butter, garlic, parmesan, whatever herbs I have in the garden. I can eat mountains of the stuff

DownThePubWithStevieNicks · 06/01/2025 18:02

Olive oil, black pepper and Parmesan. Or sage butter, especially good with the squash filling.

My partner does it with a quick sauce of tinned toms, onion, mushroom, pepper. Nice enoughfor a quick dinner and gets more veg in but I prefer my way!

klimtchakra · 06/01/2025 18:03

Butter or some lemon oil

Unlovablerogue · 06/01/2025 18:03

Salad and a sauce

Gliblet · 06/01/2025 18:03

Depending on the flavour, pesto, butter and grana padano/parmigiano cheese, simple tomato and herb sauce, chilli oil, tapenade. If you want something a bit richer then you can mix cream cheese, lemon juice, black pepper and garlic for a quick creamy sauce.

Really gently wilt some spinach with butter toss the cooked pasta in with a little pesto and some chargrilled peppers (from a jar the ones in oil not pickled)

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/01/2025 18:04

Add Mushroom, Onion, Spinach had it tonight

murasaki · 06/01/2025 18:05

I do a butter, black pepper, garlic and lemon juice sauce with either asparagus chopped up small or spinach in it. Sometimes some bacon bits too.

harriettenightingale · 06/01/2025 18:06

I sometimes brown some butter in a pan and when sizzling add a few sage leaves and use that as the sauce with lots of Parmesan grated over. Simple but amazing.

ImWearingPantaloons · 06/01/2025 18:06

I make a tomato , chilli and vegetable soup and drop them in 5 mins before eating

Hertsmum78 · 06/01/2025 18:07

Always tomato sauce!

Pleaseletmegohome · 06/01/2025 18:09

Roast some cherry tomatoes, wilt some spinach and toast some pine nuts. Chuck it all together with a drizzle of olive oil, fresh Parmesan, salt and pepper. Done.

BobbyBiscuits · 06/01/2025 18:11

Tomato sauce made with a tin of toms, good olive oil and garlic and herbs. Or sometimes just a little olive oil and parmesan and basil.
I only like the mushroom one though. Which for some reason isn't that easy to find and is more expensive than meat or ricotta or whatever.

EeyoresLostTail · 06/01/2025 18:15

usually by the side of them they have sauses in tubs great poured over

weaselpatrol · 06/01/2025 18:19

Sage and butter with some Parmesan on top. Tortellini served the traditional way in broth.

GoodVibesHere · 06/01/2025 18:20

OMG I love some of these ideas, definately going to try them. When adding butter, do you melt the butter in a pan or do you just add knobs of butter onto the pasta?

GiddyRobin · 06/01/2025 18:21

I like them with a mascarpone sauce. Maybe some mussels, depending on the filling, and garlic butter on ciabatta. Rocket leaves on the side or even stirred through.

I just drop a few small knobs of butter onto the cooked pasta, leave it a minute, then gently stir.

Iwiicit · 06/01/2025 18:24

Coat with a tomato sauce, sprinkle with (loads of) cheddar and grill until bubbling and golden.

Differentstarts · 06/01/2025 18:27

They have the pots of sauce next to them their usually on an offer with the pasta I thought that was the appeal as its so quick and easy it's great for when you've been working late and have no time

Mylittlebobble · 06/01/2025 18:28

Roasted veg.

purplecorkheart · 06/01/2025 18:29

The ones in my local supermarket are not great so tend to only have them when I need a really fast dinner. Normally there is a deal where they come with a tub of sauce and garlic bread.

The very odd time they do a nice lobster one which I make a white wine and cream sauce.

However, normally, it is just ricotta and spinach which I get a pesto sauce or a meat filled one which I get tomato based sauce.

Mylittlebobble · 06/01/2025 18:29

Or grilled veg if I'm too hungry to wait for roasted

MajorCarolDanvers · 06/01/2025 18:30

A tomato sauce usually. Tomato and basil or arriabatia

HighlandCowbag · 06/01/2025 18:30

I just have whatever ready-made sauce goes with it. M and S do a chilli prawn one that goes fab with ariabatta sauce. If its to feed dh (builder, always hungry when he gets home) he likes something like a chicken breast at the side. If I'm hangry I will have salmon or chicken.

The kids like the cheese and ham ones with cheese sauce, or tomato and basil. Haven't had them for ages tbh, that might be Thursdays tea sorted.
