I've been buying Waitrose Essential (9s) for about two years as I often get a pound off voucher. But the quality has deteriorated so I need a new bogroll buy. I used to buy Nicky. Is it still any good? Thankyou.

I like Regina soft bamboo - usually available on a bulk buy deal on Amazon if you have room to store.

lapuf · 06/01/2025 20:16

Yep who gives a crap convert here! Lasts so long too! We have 48 on order every eight months for a family of four (including an overzealous small child with no concept of correct amount to use Grin)
My MIL thought she was helping and took them out of the wrappers once...

Songlines · 06/01/2025 20:18

Yet another vote for WGAC.
I live on my own and a box lasts over a year

Cookerhood · 06/01/2025 20:20

We tried WGAC in lockdown & thought it was awful - toilet roll crumbs galore.
We used to swear by Costco but it's changed (I have one of the old tills & it definitely has), so I don't get that any more.
Good old Andrex here mostly.

Sunshineandrainbow · 06/01/2025 20:24

Still feel so disappointed about the waitrose one. The reviews on it speak volumes so I am hoping it reverts back one day.

In the mean time Sainsbury's own

Who gives a crap

Came here to say this! Buy the bamboo one, it's soft and because you buy in bulk, it lasts bloody ages! Also the wrapping they come in is stylish so you don't mind they being on display!

twobluehorses · 06/01/2025 20:27

Nicky is cheap abd good

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 06/01/2025 20:30

Don’t know if you can get in the U.K but this is EXCELLENT!

Nicky Elite is good, it's cheap, and it is available from ASDA and home bargains among other places.

EdithWeston · 06/01/2025 20:40

Who gives a crap

The rolls seem to last longer than other brands.
You feel environmentally smug - both in terms of the product and also that there is no plastic packaging
The Christmas Gnome on the Throne is much more useful than elf on the bloody shelf.

(I didn't buy the 48 pack because the 24 had sold out, no, no, not me. Those gnomes will be grinning at me al year!)

Nearlyadoctor · 06/01/2025 20:43

Another vote for Who Gives a Crap - the bamboo one. Have been using it for 5 years now.

IKnowAPlace · 06/01/2025 20:46

Another happy Who Gives A Crap customer here. Four years in! I had no idea there were so many of us.

I get the one in the black and white packaging.

Thereisnomagicwand · 06/01/2025 20:50

We like Cushelle - just the right softness and thickness.

Bazoo. Lovely.

SabbatWheel · 06/01/2025 20:54

Sainsbury’s double roll in the paper wrapping has been an unexpected pleasure to use for bum wiping and toilet cleaning in 2024. Would recommend!

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2025 20:54

Andrex Mega on subscription from Amazon.

Notrynajudge · 06/01/2025 20:54

Tesco own brand. Lasts a long time and doesn't break up but also flushes away easily.

HousedInMySoul · 06/01/2025 20:56

Sainsburys stamford Street brand lasts for ages and is cheap. The rolls are really long. You can get perfumed or non-perfumed

Latenightreader · 06/01/2025 20:58

chattyness · 06/01/2025 17:59

I buy little duck supreme it's currently £5.50 for a 24 pack in tesco

Is that the scented one? I had to return a large cheap pack last week because I founs the smell so strong and I've had recent UTIs. I was really indignant that thd cheapest ond was perfumed!

Same! I didn't like WGAC at all. Naked sprout is so much better.

ScabbyHorse · 06/01/2025 21:01

Splesh by Cusheen

fairylights79 · 06/01/2025 21:03

Deebee90 · 06/01/2025 18:01

I buy Andrex and andrex only. If I get another brand I get sore skin weirdly.

Same

Datesandprunes · 06/01/2025 21:04

Little duck though it scented which annoys me, but I've never had a uti so figure I'm safe.

I was all ready to switch to Who Gives A Crap until I realised it's EXTORTIONATE!

Little duck is £5.50 for 24 roles
WGAC is £28 for 24 roles

How is that even justifiable?!
