Panettone - Just why ????

Every year boss has handed out panettone & Prosecco as a Christmas gift - which duly gets shared (ok so technically regifted) at friends Christmas drinks. Never actually tried it as best before date seems to suggest it has nuclear waste grade preservatives…

Is it just me that thinks pannetone is the modern day equivalent of lily of the valley talcum powder ????

DH sent me to a deli to buy one for our Xmas day.
The Italian owner was very helpful and persuasive, gave me £5 off as it was the last medium one he had.
It still cost £25 Blush.

Better be bloody good.

I have a lovely one from Sainbury's in a beautiful box, tied with a purple ribbon. I cannot wait to open it!

I’m ordering one next week with my Tesco delivery. Hopefully they still have some left as I don’t think I’ve had one this year.

If not, my local tk maxx has panettone year round in their food gift section! 😋

I think you are supposed to soak slices in alcohol and use in puddings
